I think it’s still a very positive indication when LO, the largest shareholder throws some more skin on the game. They can’t buy much more unless their intention is to make a bid for the company.

The BIG money is piling in now.

Why are some getting twitchy? We should have a much clearer view of how things will pan out within the next month or less, once we get to read about the verdict from the PTAB and the judges report on the Markman hearing. A nano-second compared with the years many investors have been patiently waiting for a positive outcome.

If things align in our favour, we should see a lift in the share price.

The main fly in the ointment is that apparently these start shipping next month. If that was the case I'd have expected QD supply to scale from late last year, and there's been no news of that.

I posted that patent link up a while back. For mini-LED however you need both red and green dots to colour correct the blue led to a pure white light, then it goes through a filter stack like any other LCD screen.

Anyone watch the Apple presentation this evening? Primarily the liquid retina XDR display in the new ipad pro.

Blue LED backlights with 1000nit and up to 1600nit brightness, with custom designed optical films. QD's not mentioned, and could be mistaken, but my hunch is this display will use them, because can't think of what else will colour correct blue LED's and also deliver the efficiencies required in a mobile platform.

Interesting to see how tiny the number of QD's that are estimated for ELQD display. The potential for display volume i far greater, and ELQD is probably still at least a decade or more away, if they ever get there.

I can't find any reference to QD's on their site, although it's very possible looking at the tech they're using them. I think for now STMicro remains the most promising contender.

I wonder what the logic was behind the timing of GMT capital's short, it was pretty much directly before things started to move off the 9-10p range. Seems like cuckoo timing to me. In the past they seems to have got it right with Nanoco, but not this time.

I wouldn't buy an oled at all personally. QD enhanced LCD looks fine to me and is much cheaper. With mini led refining local dimming it's better still. OLED has got advanatages for portables with regards to battery life, and the burn in issues and ageing are of little consequence as devices are cycled more often.

I don't think they're trying to beat LED backlit LCD or microled for luminance, just trying to hit the magic 1000 nits required for HDR.

By using QD filters , they should be able to give a much more vivid picture, and LG have very recently announced improvements in their tech to deliver better luminance.
