There's a lot less Hyperbole with BT than under ME's tenure. There are five companies signed up with Nanoco on eight different material types, two of the companies have potential for significant scale.
However the company has been there before. When they signed with Dow, who were going to supply not just Samsung but also LG, and it went flat, then the company rejigged the license and signed up with Wah Hong and Merck, and after a handful of demo/prototypes, little more came of it. Then there were the QD enhanced monitor screens, which turned out to use cadmium dots..
I do think it's different this time though, not least because Nanoco seem to have a tangible advantage on the competition, but chiefly because ST Micro have made quite a few public statements and presentations about these sensors coming to market.
We'll just have to wait and see.
