I thought the same about shorters but they can serve a purpose for the investor (as opposed to day trader). I make it a habit of checking the shorting position after coming a cropper on CLLN. There are many cases when they call it wrong (recent example Ocado) and I've seen PFC shorted at double what it is today (and the sp was more than double than todays price)

The divi has been declared in cents (US). The actual payment you will get will be determined by the conversion due to the dollar to sterling exchange rate closer to payment date. At the moment the only exact figure is the divi in cents.

In my trading account I see I've got the opportunity to buy 30 Nil paid rights share at �2.60 (approx). If I were to purchase them tomorrow at 78 quid plus dealing & stamp costs - what further money do I need to allocate to take up the rights issue. In buying these rights - have I essentially part-paid for the upcoming new shares - and, if so, how much more money do I have to set aside? (never been through a RI before - it doesn't seem especially advantageous for private investors with only a small qty of shares in GFRD).

In addition, further buys of 82k, 205k, 75k ,89k, 311k, 69k, 155k, 50k, 98k and 132k (UK pounds). I'm ignoring the smaller buys of 30k. I'd love to know who is spending! Is it PIs or 'small' buys from Institutional investors?

I don't know why the closing price is incorrectly reported. I've noticed this before and not just with PFC. It's at the point where it would be prudent to counter check with other sources.

I think it probably wise to let him divulge that to you SD. I worked it out from a few clues and i think it was a bit of a surprise. I'll pass on your request to him.
