Confidentiality agreements can be time limited or ongoing as the perceived prejudice of disclosure can carry over even after negotiations end. We'll never know...well not unless they tell us.

goodlife - thought i'd give it a go. there are lots of irate people out there, some justified, some with agenda's, some who just want to rant. can't please all the people all the time. pleasing some of the people some of the time is a win. as i said to someone yesterday - being angry at someone who doesn't know you're angry at them only screws you up...they're just getting on with it. we've all put our hard earned money on the table knowing full well that the investment can go up or down. we entrust our money to essentially complete strangers. when you say it like that it sounds entirely daft. we do it knowing the risk. at no point when you invest are you given any say in what happens in a company unless you are a significant shareholder. i therefore don't understand the rage. we all signed up to letting a bunch of strangers run a company in the hope they would do a good job. nobody held a gun to our heads. if they do a good job..winner winner chicken dinner. if not, plan b. pretty sure the directors want to succeed as much as we want them to. ****ging them and the company off when the slightest apparent blip occurs does nothing. if people don't like what's happening then sell - its the button next to buy.

Price has dropped 15.375p in a year. To even get us back to 19p would take over 500% increase. To get us back to 38p high would take circa 1,100% increase. Now at the point of thinking do I stick or twist and take what I have left and "invest" elsewhere as even with a joint venture is COPL going to achieve a 500% to 1,000% increase? Maybe it's just because it's wednesday and it all feels a bit carp.

I thought the same - why have a new website and advertise for new roles...well we all know the answer to that horror show. Fingers crossed this one works out slightly better. Sitting on an 88% loss on the other - much like everyone else i suspect.

I'm no expert, I mean I know next to nothing about oil or how it gets out of the ground, but I know a thing or two about law and it is entirely reasonable for an agreement such as the mooted JV to take many months to complete. They will want to carry out DD and then in all probability as part of the DD process want to make further and better enquiries to confirm (or otherwise ) the information provided by COPL. Throw in a pretty bad winter that will possibly have interrupted such enquiries and the delay is entirely understandable. It is a resource based agreement and unfortunately it is in this case a resource based underground that can't be seen. if I was going to invest multiple millions of $$$ I would want to be as certain as possible that I was investing in a dud. Once the resource and accessibility to the resource are confirmed then it's time to talk $$$. No point talking $$$ until you know what it is and how much it will cost to get it out of the ground. While we are all "excited" at the potential here I feel there needs to be a dollop of realism in terms of timescale to achieve a multimillion dollar agreement. Let's face it, the oil isn't going anywhere so the JV partner won't be in a rush - although they may be gazumped. Our main worry has to be getting it over the line before we run out of money.

I'm no expert by any stretch but it begs the question why are they converting the bonds to shares? Is it so they can sell them and get something back rather than nothing or is it because they see that the shares will be worth more to them?
