Again we all know MA wants Debenhams to fail so he can grab himself another bargain like House of Fraser. Just look at how he has destroyed Newcastle United. The fans have wanted him out for years regularly arranging mass demonstrations and suffering relegation more than once.

A near 50% drop in share price over 4 days on the back of one or two suppliers getting cold feet is not normal and can not be explained or justified by anyone - the board, FCA or the market abuse and intelligence teams.

Sports Direct has denied claims that it wants Debenhams to fail so it can buy it cheaply.

Multiple news outlets report that Debenhams’ attempt to raise cash by selling its Scandinavian department store chain Magasin du Nord could be in jeopardy after Sports Direct boss Mike Ashley reportedly threatened to block the sale.

Odey holds almost 70% of the total shorts in Debenhams - far more than any of the other shorting hedge funds including BlackRock.

He is said to be a major shareholder in Mike Ashley's Sports Direct and they are widely rumoured to be good friends.

Connect the dots...It is a disgrace and huge scandal.

Increasing or opening a short position automatically crashes the share price if you are a hedge fund. Yes a very fair market isn't it? Has been proven time and again that this is almost always the case.

Although Elikhulu ramped up to full production only in late Sept/October I still expect EPS to come in around 1p for H1. Still targeting 2p-2.5p EPS for the full year.

& once again we see how short selling hedge funds totally distort the share price and yet the UK continues to ignore pleas to ban it. This week just proves once again the total control they have over the market. I suspect Crispin Odey and Mike Ashley will be facing some form of investigation over this whole scandal that has developed here..

CEO being very brief and non-committal when asked about Spire but no mention of off loading or getting out of the UK - I reckon talks are going on right now.

Who is this supplier trashing Debenhams in the media I wonder and what sort of sales do they generate? Could be very minimal. Did someone/short selling hedge fund coerce them into talking to the media? The media's activities and probable links to the short selling hedge funds has also been highly suspicious here. As for Brexit no that is not the cause here - some of the clothing retailers had a cracking day today with M&S and Next up 2%.

Have to say the board have been very disappointing once again with their lack of action here. Bucher and Cheshire in particular. A 40% drop in 3 days warrants an RNS and an explanation. 40% is not a minor drop! Suspend trading if necessary.

Claimed earlier the drop was due to an upcoming review of the FTSE small cap index in December - DEB moving down to AIM status?

They would be truly stupid to sell out at this price. They will have lost £350M and will get back a paltry £100M or so.
