Yesterday I attended our Leaders Forum, it was a great event and opportunity to catch-up, network and share ideas with colleagues.

A key theme for the day was decarbonisation – and we were honoured to have a keynote address from John Gummer, Rt Hon The Lord Deben, the Chairman of the Climate Change Committee – setting the challenge that it is everyone’s’ responsibility to meet net zero by reducing carbon emissions whilst preserving resources and improving biodiversity.

Linked to this was the need to innovate to reduce carbon and improve performance – with a presentation from Yogesh Patel, our Process and Improvement Director – highlighting the continuous improvement hierarchy ‘Optimisation, Innovation, Transformation’

In the Market Place, an opportunity for areas of business to showcase key innovations, we learnt from our industrial partners, JCB and AFC Energy plc in the use of hydrogen to power plant and our site compounds. We also benefited from a very informed presentation on the future of energy resilience and transition in the UK from one of Taylor Woodrow emerging talents Indra Peachey from our graduate programme.

Remember the first power towers were more of a demonstration unit which for the power that they were capable of were perfected no point sending out a more powerful and expensive one to trial which may have failed

The problem is with the rush to decarbonise is the poorer countries get left behind and are used as slaves to do the mining for the minerals needed these countries then are still using fossil fuels

Acciona won't put all the eggs in one basket
A new ACCIONA's initiative to promote the decarbonization of its construction sites. An innovative portable hybrid photovoltaic generator, developed by our collaborating company ECOSUN Innovations, has been deployed to supply electrical energy to one of the site compounds of the Logroño Bypass Highway A-68 (Arrubal-Navarrete) project, which ACCIONA is executing in a joint venture for the Ministerio de Transportes, Movilidad y Agenda Urbana. This towable and easy-to-deploy equipment has replaced the use of an existing 40 kVA diesel generator set in the site compound of the construction site. The testing and validation of this new type of zero-emission portable gen-set, in this site will last, at least, 6 for months. The initial results obtained have shown a drastic 90% reduction in diesel consumption compared to the previous situation. This means an expected saving of 4,500 liters of diesel and a reduction of over 15 tons of CO2 emissions during the validation period. The system comprises a 30kW AFC Energy air cooled fuel cell and 45kWh battery storage system, giving the customer a total 50 kVA zero emission output.

So are we developing the s series or the s series + with abb

Looking back at the original abb collaboration rns it mentioned s series
The latest rns mentions s+series is that a change of fuel cell

Also will the original warrants that abb applied for be changed

ABB's £4m order enables AFC Energy to deliver a 200kW "S" Series charging system in early 2023
So they are a year behind that's why abb wanted a new deal

Am I right in thinking that abb will be given a discount on the first 10 200kw s series .To me abb are now running the show

What I would like to know is why the eoy results was late in the first place if they already knew about the abb share deal then that rns should have arrived earlier it's strange that rns only arrived when the s series had been tested something not quite right
