AP has repeatedly said that Alpha and Mecuria are on the “inside”.

According to the accounts we owed them $10.376m as at April 25.

The accounts also said (repeatedly) that the Company “continues to discuss arrangements with both Alpha and Mercuria and plans to repay the debts from the diamond proceeds and alternative funding measures”.

With the last raise we were told $1m of the debt would be repaid. So we have already started to use “alternative funding measures”.

For me, Alpha and Mercuria are most likely to have insisted on that raise/repayment because, being on the inside, they know the diamond value isn’t enough to cover debt on its own, and because they know that when the diamond value is made known then getting another raise away may prove difficult given the shocking trading and financial position of the company.

We can all guess at value. I prefer to look at the actions of those that know their value. And those actions suggest some are in for an unwelcome surprise.

Yep, encouraging to see both CoTec and MKA recover strongly after a disastrous morning for both.

I see that today CoTec announced they’d be doing an investor presentation on 19/11.

Interesting to see that BEGO (are these the same as JBER I’ve seen referenced before?)have been sat at the top of the ASK for a while, have now moved to the top of the BID. They are now buying not selling.

The US Supreme Court is hearing oral arguments today in a case to determine the legality of Trumps tariffs. Decision isn’t expected until January, but the questioning of the justices in oral arguments often gives a strong flavour as to where they’re leaning, having read the brief.

Any views on what, if any, impact the decision could have on us? Seems to me that if the tariffs are deemed illegal then Trump loses the major leverage he has over China to curb their export controls.

Of course, who knows what this SCOTUS will do….

I have my answer…if a product was made in China and legally exported — e.g., as part of a finished product like a hard drive, electric motor, or speaker — then once that item is outside China’s borders, it is no longer subject to Chinese export licensing or control.

But let’s assume we sourced scrap feedstock in the US, but that feedstock was originally made in China. Would restrictions still apply?

So they took 25m of the 54.5m issued in the raise.

Just noting the announcement doesn’t say when the 3 months starts, although it’s reasonable to assume it’s from 30/10, when it was signed.

If I were to engage a PR firm for a particular period, I’d think I’d already be in a position of having something material for them to promote, and keen to get them off and running tout suite.

More interesting for me is the high level of buy side interest in the auction.
