Revenue may be down but profits are well up, recovery seems strong, I have no idea why the large fall, any thoughts? If this stays up the resistance around 190p then I think this may have a chance of recovering over the next few days. GLA

I am looking to buy in over the next few days, anything around 200p is good IMO as it is near the support level. Results and dividend this month, I am looking for a rise now to around 220p where the first resistance is.

I think we're on similar terms - I'm looking at RRS in terms of a safe haven for when the 8th of November comes along. Even if gold prices fall over the next 4 days I believe the sp will rally if Trump is elected, IMO it is just as bad as Brexit and so the uncertainty caused will help RRS. I may be completely wrong but that's what I think, open to suggestions GLA

I have read articles about Yahoo's cyber security breach possibly exposing BT and Sky details which I thought would either put their SP down or help out TALK. The market has opened terribly today so we will see what happens, I hope we can stay above £2.

I see your point of view @pokerchips but someone could buy it either to bulk their own size (If Vodafone wanted to compete with BT+EE) or as a rescue deal as there hasn't been much recovery after the data breach. Please note that I trade very much based on support and resistance which ,on that basis, made it a very scary morning today after they fell below 194!

Over the last year there has been strong support between 194 - 196. I topped up yesterday at 197 but if the support he is broken I think we could be in trouble for a while - Then again, it makes it more attractive for a take over. GLA

Not good to see the SP fall to where it has but the support around 196p has come in strong as it has done previously over the last year. I would love to top up now if I had the money as I believe this belongs around 220p minimum. Any other thoughts?

I like the post, good to see someone has a similar mind to myself! It will be interesting to see what they do over the next week with such a volatile day on Thursday! To have an RSI of 0 at 232.4 at 10:38 is looking good for a climb today. GLA

I struggled to understand the share price but I think we'll do well if it can stay above 230 tomorrow.

Good to hear from you @hobione. It was a good week, I'm liking the look of the chart at the moment although I am a strong chartist and rely on it heavily. Unfortunately they look a tad oversold on the RSI but not a bad finish all together!

Unfortunately they are just rumours at the moment and I think they will be until the end of 2016 so any potential buyers could see the whole effect of the cyber hack. @Uddinkas, thanks for the link, may be worth posting on the VOD and SKY chats? Great to see this board talking once again, its brilliant to be able to share thoughts and ideas. For me it seems to be an interesting time, I believe there is resistance around the 220p mark, hopefully we're going to stay above that now, should rise with an interest rate cut. GLA

It's a shame that Ofcom haven't decided to split Openreach and BT but Talk don't seem to be suffering too bad at the moment. The campaign for the split is strong and I think we could see this happen by October 4th (I believe this is the next meeting/review date. For me, August 4th will be interesting, a fall in interest rates should help the SP!

@uddinkas I agree, an overseas buyer would make sense, perhaps a large American operator may be interested if trying to get into Europe. I would say that the uncertainty is highly likely to put a deal off but it's been disproved by the takeover of ARM. I'm still trying to get my head round how the sp performs as yesterday was extremely bizarre, perhaps it was an extreme case of profit taking? In regards to everyone, I'd love to get this chat going properly so please chip in where you like!

I'm starting to hear a lot of speculation regarding a possible take over but I don't know where this has come from, has anyone got any sources? It seemed to be a bizarre trading day yesterday - I can't understand how they risen to 235p yet ended up closing below their opening price. I was hoping the ~220p resistance level would be broken and maintained!

With the referendum in just over 3 weeks time, do we think the SP will be affected before, after, both? I'm interested in how it will affect the market and what the general thoughts are!

That seems logical and like a good idea, not sure how successful it would be aty the moment with the EU Referendum as many short - middle term investors may be selling out to play it safe. Good idea though - we'll see what happens with MKS over tomorrow and next week!
