The Q3 Report for the three months ended 31 March 2022

This makes for depressing reading.
They really take it on the nose, but it seems management goes all out to improve the long term prospects:
- very high stripping volumes
- replacement of the underground mining contractor, which is very disruptive and requires loads of capex to acquire mining equipment, hire and train staff.
- investments in a solar plant
- exploration to find higher grade resources.
The better open pit grade cannot compensate for the terrible underground grade. Whether the underground grade has anything to do with changing to owner mining is not clear.
If you believe these are all transitory, then this is probably a low point. If you distrust management, then it looks horrible.

Yes, I have been here a long time, like other long term holders I really didn't believe that the BOD could been so inept or have failed to notice, or chose not to admit just what a deep hole of deceit and spoil Pardey & Youssef were digging us into at Sukari!
That's what makes me more angry than anything we were deceived by those that should have have behaved with integrity rather than glossing over the cracks until they couldn't be glossed over any longer, and then they went through the farce of Pardey retiring to take a seat on another BOD and start all over again, because the BOD realised if they kicked his ar(se out the door that would be admitting that they were inept, asleep on the job, or complicit in the deception of the share holders and the market!
Youssef El Raghy ,well, I think we all know why he was in post and I doubt it was because of his in depth knowledge of running a gold mine!
I won't go into details but several of those that gave me what they honestly believed was good info are even more angry than I am.
Please bear in mind I am no gold trading expert, but from what Ive been told Basel 3 is already making a difference, the LBMA and other cartel members are in overdrive suppressing the pog whilst the trying to get out of the paper comex hole they are in, also there's political pressure to suppress the POG to try and make it more difficult for Putin to seen be getting around economic sanctions, but as yet it's in the other exclusive and behind closed wholesale gold markets that the mainstream and the likes of us are excluded from, but the word is that eventually especially with the rising inflation that the effects of Basel 3 will become more apparent to a wider precious metals market
So yes as things stand I'm very inclined agree with our fellow forum members who are bullish about the POG.
I agree with Tornado and others state, if you think about it this share is so cheap?
this year is no doubt going to be the hardest , probably on of the hardest we have ever endured , lets just hope that things will get better, they surely cant get any worse, at least I hope not!

Unfortunately for us Centamin has "tanked" to such an extent over recent years that it will be through the floor soon.

In short if Mr Rutherford’s contribution to the running of the company thus far and indeed his contribution to the AGM presentation today were likened to a culinary verdict of a meal then “Bland” would seem to be overly generous, some considerable room for improvement, or far better to take it off the menu all together!
As to the rest of the BOD with the exception of Martin Horgan, well if thy were racing pigeons then they are certainly not worth their corn and it would be a case of letting them fly, or if they refused to leave then wringing their necks!

Without doubt if the BOD & NED's had been as half as good at discharging their duties with the appropriate due diligence as they have been been in allowing ineptness and nepotism to prevail to such an extent at Sukari that the all market confidence and trust is down the lavatory then this share would now be at nearer £5!
Instead this share is well and truly buggered until there is more than just bullish statements!

Take your point on grades, although as we know that's dependant upon many factors, not to mention how the results are interpreted.
Also Atone doesn't have the mine infrastructure or the processing capability?
So its a punt on future predictions I suppose, although who can tell what investors like us can really trust?
I've come to the conclusion after years of investing that we private investors get taken for a ride by the BOD of most companies and then the brokers and market makers screw us,and after that the government screws us!
I don't trust any of them ,so may as well stay in the one that's already screwed us so many times that the share price is on its ar(se anyway!

That's what the laws of supply and demand dictate and on the market stalls if potatoes pasta are in short supply then the buyers are charged a premium, but the market stall holders can't print paper potatoes and pasta!
Can't really see the housewife being willing to take home a bag full of paper potatoes and pasta even if she was given a few extra for taking a paper settlement!

Well still dropping despite Centamin actually producing gold, Marker seems oblivious to that and instead is intent on pricing the company at levels it was before capex was repaid, stage 4 was still uncompleted and profit share was a dream some way off and the Arab spring was in full flow!
So will it drop back to 37p I wonder as in the past when the Sukari concession license was declared not valid, Oh of course that case is still awaiting a ruling and then there is the $25-$30 million diesel subsidy previously part of the original agreement and then withdrawn by the Egyptian government which is still awaiting a ruling

GOLD PRICES dropped Monday as further falls in global stock markets saw risk-averse demand for Dollars push the US currency up to 20-year highs on the FX market after speculators continued to reduce their bullish betting on gold for the 3rd week running, writes Atsuko Whitehouse at BullionVault.

Spot gold prices fell 1.3% to $1859 per ounce after recording their 3rd weekly decline, extending the drop to nearly 7% since Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell affirmed in mid-April that a half-point rate hike was on the table for May – a move delivered at last Wednesday's policy meeting, and the first such hike since May 2000.

Oil prices also fell, down more than 2% by lunchtime in London, despite the G7 group of nations agreeing plans to block imports of crude from Russia as part of tighter sanctions over Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.

Latest data show that hedge funds and other leveraged speculators in Comex gold futures and options cut their bullish betting for the 3rd week running in the week-ending 3rd May and increased their bearish betting.

Overall, the data collected and published by US regulator the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) say that pushed the net long position of Managed Money traders to the smallest in over 3 months. The net bullish positions shrunk 43% in the last 3 weeks.

Nafothaz said late July 11 that the discovery was one of the largest oil fields found in Ukraine in some 15 years.
