The decision by the Government of Ireland not to proceed with the Climate Emergency Bill may be the catalyst for investment decisions regarding the development of proven gas in the Celtic Sea.



Next Step

Seismic reprocessing is being undertaken to potentially improve the definition of the Ram Head gas structure and the fault compartment tested by the 49/19-1 Marathon discovery well.



A further operational update will be given upon completion of the seismic reprocessing.

Background



Predator's management, who have 20 years' experience exploring for, appraising and producing gas offshore Ireland, has been advocating the case for indigenous gas development since 2016 focussing on four critical issues:



· Security of Energy Supply in an increasingly volatile Brexit landscape



· Transition to a lower-carbon economy by pragmatic means using indigenous gas, which has a lower carbon footprint, to replace imported coal



· Maintaining the potential for tax revenues from gas developments to support the investment needed in expanding renewable energy



· Ensuring energy remains affordable and accessible to all

Predator C02 Footprint Strategy



Predator only operates and works closely with environmental agencies and regulators in countries where there is a commitment to reducing CO2 emissions.



In this respect the Company is focussed on exploring for gas in Morocco, which has a high dependency on coal for electricity generation, and Trinidad, where the Company is addressing the potential for C02 sequestration as part of our near-term programme of operations. CO2 from Trinidad's ammonia plants is currently vented into the atmosphere.





Recent Ram Head Competent Person's Report ("CPR")



With this new political development our focus on the gas discovered in 1984 by Marathon, 40 kilometres east of the Kinsale platforms at Ram Head in the Celtic Sea, becomes of even greater significance. Unlike the majority of new gas opportunities around Ireland the Ram Head gas has already been discovered and is now a strategic fit with stated energy policy.

I also think that Morocco and Trinidad are for free and that we can’t lose because when we announce a farm in partner for Ireland the share price will sky rocket much higher than anything we have seen before .

We won’t need to issue any more shares either If Trinidad is a success as that will more than cover our expenses.

All you have to do is buy as many as you can and hold long term, just like Paul and the bod. It really is that easy - but most don’t have the patience and will never see the huge returns that could come our way .

Mr. Kerwin has over 20 years of industry experience, with a focus on engineering and production operations in North America, West Africa, Australia, and Europe. Mr. Kerwin was appointed Managing Director of the Ireland Business Unit in February 2018. Previously, he held the position of Managing Director, France Business Unit from March 2014, and Facilities Engineering Manager from January 2011. Mr. Kerwin joined Vermilion in 2005 as the Interim General Manager of our Australia Business Unit. After his assignment in Australia, he spent five years in the France Business Unit leading facilities engineering and asset integrity functions before returning to Canada in 2011. Prior to joining Vermilion, he worked in various engineering and project management roles with Chevron in Canada, Houston and Nigeria.

Another discovery, Ram Head, was made in 1984 by Marathon with well 49/19-1. The discovery is now operated by Predator and the company has announced a potential appraisal programme on the discovery. The company is looking to re-enter 49/19-1 to test the discovered gas to understand the scope of a potential development. Predator state that a reservoir engineering study shows development potential of 10 wells with a recovery of 1 Tcf of gas over an 11-year period.

Field History of the Northwest Offshore Ireland Basin

The Northwest Offshore Ireland Basin is subdivided into the Slyne and Erris sub-basins. The Slyne sub-basin hosts the Corrib gas field. First discovered in 1996 by Enterprise Energy it is the largest gas discovery since Kinsale Head. The successful discovery proved the highly porous and permeable nature of the Triassic Sherwood sandstone reservoir. The Carboniferous coals charged the Triassic reservoir and the halite Merica Mudstone group sealed the Corrib anticline, creating a four-way dip closure. Shell acquired Enterprise in 2001. The Dutch major encountered issues developing Corrib but finally bought the field onstream in December 2015. At peak production Corrib has produced approximately 96% of Ireland's gas demand. Subsequently Shell exited Corrib in 2016 and Vermillion became operator.

Corrib's success led to further exploration interest within the Slyne sub-basin (Figure 2), and several prospects have been identified. The Corrib South prospect owned by Predator is located 20 km south of Corrib and has the same Triassic Sherwood sandstone reservoir. Corrib South is estimated to hold resources of 424 Bcf and could be tied into the Corrib infrastructure. Key risks include the seal effectiveness and hydrocarbon migration. A potential well is planned for 2020.
