Should see a good increase in the share price tomorrow , UK banks are in a very good position , one think the UK banks have all got a huge cushion if they ever had a hichup , , i would think other countries will make their banks do the same , i think to mind Lloyds have the tune of £79 Billion in the BOE earning interest incase they need , as the BOE said UK banks are in a very good position .
March 19 (Reuters) - The Bank of England on Sunday said it welcomed the actions by the Swiss authorities to merge Credit Suisse (CSGN.S) with UBS Group (UBSG.S).

"The UK banking system is well capitalised and funded, and remains safe and sound," the central bank added.

Well UBS has had to pay a fair chunk so no give away , must of been worth it , anyway it makes a start to help stabilise the markets .............. Maybe

jez if it sorts the problem out it has got to be a good thing ,

UK banks have got huge cushions now what the govt made them have , add that up between the UK banks and makes them pretty safe , IMO

mc - hammer , 67 billion shares for a start , Ukraine war , cost of living , the buyback is helping as the SP would be lower , Lloyds have taken 4 plus billion shares out the market , , once the war is finished in Ukraine and cost of living crises has finished maybe the SP will go to a much better SP ,get more shares gone on this current buyback should help bit more , maybe they need to split some of Lloyds up and give us shares from break ups , you right it is to cheap .

I think any bad news is priced in now , maybe £500 million to cover bad debt is needed but the rate the interests have gone up Lloyds will still be making mega bucks , lot of the bad times at the moment is Ukraine , strikes , but i dont see it dropping below 48p infact might get a dip and then back up over 50p to 55p , the stock market knows how to take funds of the weak very easy , i would think a billion quid buyback and just over 1.5p final divi , Lloys have plenty of cash for hard time , infact billions ,

Pander , They stopped the windfall tax on the last budget knowing the banks were going to have some bad debt to cover, but remember the Govt made a billion from the shares they held in the bank for the bailout .

I would think this drop in the markets today is more to Ukraine war , Russia seems to be preparing a massive counter attack , which ever way it goes the west need to hurry with those tanks etc , they should have given them long while ago , but i think it is spooking the market

Bronco , I know what you are saying ,some have never paid into the NI and you hear on tv they wont get a pension but they do they get pension credit , they are again on the grab , same as the ones who go on airplane holidays and never put nothing away for retirement but are the first to grab on the handout , there are so many super grabbers , same as these govt cost of living hand outs , i know one person who`s family got the cost of living hand out and spent 750 of it on a metal detector , then in a restaurant this other table was shouting to each other the older woman was telling her family i will pay the bill i have had plenty from the govt on cost of living extra , makes you sick .

Checkin ,just forget about the car side and concentrate on the rest , RR has nothing to do with cars anymore , concentrate on the SMR`s and Plane engines , the new CEO has made RR sound like a bit of a dog but think about it would the USA have RR supply 650 engines for their B52 bombers , no one like a kick up the backside and that is what he has done to his staff , they all know where they stand now and need to be a bit more productive , but remember what RR has is some of the best engineers in the world , so the Engineers do their job and the CEO makes sure the company runs right ,

Pity they don`t own it still if that is the case .

No wonder the RR employees didn`t want to say to much after the CEO made his comments to the staff , he did a Gerald Ratner , lets hope the yanks don`t worry so much at 2.30 .

Agazzis, you had your chance in buying in low , maybe you have lost a lot selling not understanding about the company with huge orders in the pipline , the news was about the CEO explaining where he is taking the company , soon news on the India contract , there will be work for RR for next 10 years , biggest order ever on civil aircraft .
