Tbf this is almost priced as no deal territory IMO, upside potentially 300% if deal goes ahead and downside is 20-25%. It should recover anyway even if no deal

It’s no coincidence that before the DEI nonsense was introduced in 2021 the SP was £3+, it’s been a great success since then at destroying the SP. Eye off the ball focusing on the wrong priorities like PROFIT ! How did they manage a SP of £5+ before the DEI garbage. Sid will 100% bin all this as they don’t care about DEI in the UAE

Deloitte should highlight to the BOD that nonsense like this is what trashes the SP and it needs to GO NOW. I imagine Sid will bin this straight away so it should be done now. The BOD exist to deliver shareholder value and this delivers zero value

I agree with SM66 but there are probably a few thousand useless staff at WG who don’t generate revenue and probably hinder progress. I imagine offloading even 1-2k of these people (DEI, HR, ETC) could make a massive difference to the bottom line

No one knows how this is going to play out and what the result will be, I guess that’s what makes this exciting. I agree with the earlier poster that if Sid could pick this up for 70p they would have the deal wrapped up by now.

Interesting if you take the wood current MKT cap and divide by number of employees each one is essentially only worth $9k. Worley is $146k (AUD) and rolls Royce is £2m per employee. What the hell are all these wonderful employees doing ? Hopefully 25 % of the deadwood get their P45 in the next few weeks

Another bidder is what’s needed here, if you only have one potential buyer it doesn’t create any real urgency nor will it get the max price. You’d like to think the BOD have tried to get others interested, maybe that’s what Rothschilds are upto along with the refi

I understand the EBITDA multiples etc but if the CURRENT SP is 38p why would sidara come in and offer 5-7x the price!? Reality is a 100-200% premium would be incredible considering where things are at. It’s also worth considering why didn’t they just make a binding offer of £1 and see where it goes from there as the language in the RNS is a bit weak- the BOD should have asked for a non refundable £2.5m deposit to enter negotiations IMO. Every time I ask Grok the breakup value of WOOD under different circumstances it says north of £1 per share. Totally confused as to why the market is so scared and why the BOD didn’t get something upfront from Sid.

What happens here if another buyer declares an interest ? I’m surprised this hasn’t happened yet as let’s be honest £8/900M isn’t much for a company that has the clients that Wood has. The mkt cap inflation adjusted 5 yrs ago would be 20/30 times where it is now ?

Some were speculating that there wasn’t going to be an offer or an extension. We now know there is an offer that justifies Wood co-operating and interestingly the offer price hasn’t been released as it suggests Wood have managed to get the price up over the last month or so. Hopefully the extension allows Wood to deliver some alternative good news

Now we know an offer has been received and in negotiations we must assume it’s 75P or more and up we go today ?
