RE: Can anyone give me advice about averaging up?13 Sep 2020 18:52
Hi Selecta6,
Just noted you post 10:32 - using your method (and averaging down) I have added another bag to my paper profits in GGP - thanks.
I did a trade in GGP in November 2018 which netted me £406.80 and I had not taken that into account in calculating my total outlay in GGP. Deducting that sum reduces my total outlay and now gives me a lower average and hence an extra bag. As all my shares are in an ISA envelope there is no need to include CGT in calculations.
I am well aware of the risks of AIM shares that's why it is a hobby dabbling in trading. However, holding GGP is too exciting and for me GGP is a once in a lifetime, right place right time, investment. Even though I am figgity I am following Paddy's advice 'sit on hands' (anyway for a few months longer).
Unfortunately, stuck at home because of Covid and being in a vunerable group there is little else to do. Good luck to you.
SPY and Kenco thanks. I am showing the biggest paper profit ever in over 40 years of 'playing' the stockmarket and it was only suppossed to be a bit of fun during my retirement. I feel that I should top slice some soon because being 71 years old with little actual cash I am eager to spend some of my profits for the benefit of myself and my family - particularly renovating the bathroom which is still in a sorry state . Cheers MrEMC
Spy no doubt nice for those with millions of shares but what about people like me with only a modest holding? That said I like the thought of triple digits.
"As outlined in the Agreement, the Company has the ability to acquire a 100% interest in tenement M47/342 (covering 3.63km2), which encompasses the Elizabeth Hill Silver Project for consideration of 200,000,000 Common shares (“Shares”) and 50,000,000 warrants in Alien Metals, which KMG will distribute to its shareholders (“Distribution”). The Shares would be deemed to be issued at a price of £0.0014 each, and each warrant would entitle the holder to purchase one share at a price of £0.0025 for 18 months from the date of allotment of the Shares". etc
