RE: Long Term Holders31 Aug 2018 15:24
Ordinarily long term holders would be okay if they just sat on their hands. For example some years ago a so called discretionary fund manager bought on my behalf a load of RR shares. Anyone that knows knows this has been an absolute PUP of a share and it has taken me years to get my money back with a very modest profit.
However the same cannot be said of AIM stocks, as they get dilluted and dilluted over the years so if you dont trade in and out of them it becomes even more difficult to make a profit in any way. This share being a classic example, poor stewardship dilution and predatory trading. I have sat on my holding now at a huge loss and have little choice but to see this through to the end really, but as Einstein said "anyone doing the same thing time and again expecting a different out come is a fool" and this certainly applies to our BOD.
They keep doing the same old stuff ie buying greenfield projects years away from monetisation requiring more working capital to keep the company running, instead of looking at ways to realise more immediate value in its assets. This share is like a badly run Investment Trust but even Investment Trusts buy and sell assets where appropriate.
