IDS, the quiet man, was on Andrew Marr yesterday and said something along the lines of, “we should be doing a better job of exploiting our own oil and gas resources”
Tide is turning in our favour I think.
I think labour have played this poorly in calling for windfall tax. David Lammy was also interviewed. I found it interesting that he seemed to be reluctant to call out the Gov of the BOE on workers getting pay rises in line with inflation. It seemed like a ploy not to come across as anti business. But on the other hand he is wanting to tax these disgusting oil profits.
I think with the cost of fuel and household energy we will see the public swing behind encouraging investment. It makes no sense to rely on foreign countries for oil and gas that we (still) need…
