AA - it depends on your timescales. A placing is bad for short term traders but can be positive for LTH if done at the right time and for the right reasons.

Failing to fund last year has left SCIR with a weak hand in the sale process. The uncertainty has caused a drop in the SP so any funding now will be very damaging and likely at a large discount.

Tom got greedy and started to believe his on BS IMHO.

Chris - a straight placing when we were above 1p would have been positive for the sale process and the share price.

Not getting funding in place is a big gamble. Why take these unnecessary risks? It’s another black mark against Toms leadership I’m afraid.

I’ve been saying for at least a year that they need to get funding in place. This “fund as we go” model was always a disaster, and the death spiral facility arranged by our good friends at Gneiss is a big prt of that story.

Chris - with delays even more cash will be needed. Prices are rocketing for everything and lead times are getting silly for equipment. Even if we assume the work programme prices are fixed (which they won’t be), we have the endless overheads at SCIR to fund.

I dread what the discount will be on the inevitable placing. Guess they will need bout £4 million to see them through the next 12-18months (assuming delays)

Chris - maybe you could organise a whip round in the office and buy the outstanding shares.

I think for the most part they buy the underlying asset, and for liquid assets they will balance shorts and longs. That’s why for most of these ultra small caps you can’t short them.

Frank - I am no expert, but I don’t think what you are saying is right. I suspect it is to cover a long bet. It is a little strange to see, but I suppose with SCIR market cap being so low it doesn’t take much cash to get a notifiable stake. Particularly if spreadex have offered their client leverage.

So…these benefits to the nation of invading are quite true, but I doubt Putin ordered this war to obtain assets. He will use them as justification when he loses in his true goals I’m sure.

The reason he is doing this seems to be insecurity and spite. He doesn’t like Russias diminished stature or countries defying his will. ultimately he wants to obtain power over the people in Ukraine and punish them for rejecting him.

Basically I think it’s all personal.

Anyway his regime doesn’t really care about Russian economic success…as long as the people can be kept in check and there is enough for him and his cronies to skim off the top.

I am disappointed with the progress made by PMG. They should have had the planning approved in time for the CfD round IMHO. Seems they have done bugger all since the farm was bought.

Planning is devolved so it matters not what the NIMBY tories think.
