SVT is interesting…the power station uses small gas turbines and powers homes in Shetland as well as SVT. They will be horribly inefficient but with no main grid connection you need a backup to wind. You also need the inertia from spinning mass which you don’t get from renewables.
It would be interesting to get more detail on those emissions. Perhaps there are gas / oil turbine compressors, or big oil fired heaters on the plant as well? Though my understanding of SVT is that it does next to no processing. Perhaps co2 from flaring is the answer?
I also wonder if offshore emissions are in this report. I suspect not!
