I very much doubt retail was expected to produce the full refinance. Let’s see what they have planned for the larger bond. We know they want to have $500 million debt longer term.

Hardly surprising given the uncertainty around inflation, interest rates, and global geopolitics.

I suspect this is more to do with people not wanting locked in at 9%. Equity likely to be the better performer.

EVs generally are great for certain lifestyles but for a lot of people they don’t work yet for cost and practical reasons.

Can’t imagine many opting for an EV at 3 times the price in the next few years.

I can’t see any excuse for not submitting wind farm planning. Or giving really any update at all on progress there.

I think these people should be forcibly removed to the inner cities which are much less carbon intensive.

SVT is interesting…the power station uses small gas turbines and powers homes in Shetland as well as SVT. They will be horribly inefficient but with no main grid connection you need a backup to wind. You also need the inertia from spinning mass which you don’t get from renewables.

It would be interesting to get more detail on those emissions. Perhaps there are gas / oil turbine compressors, or big oil fired heaters on the plant as well? Though my understanding of SVT is that it does next to no processing. Perhaps co2 from flaring is the answer?

I also wonder if offshore emissions are in this report. I suspect not!

Money going into something does not mean it will produce energy at the same rate as money put into something else. At the end of the day there are practical limitations.

There is a lot of new technology that needs to mature for your dream to become reality.

The massive change in infrastructure will not happen in the next 8 years. Governments don’t even have a clear strategy, which is really the first step.

This is all before we even think about economic and real wars which make the world inefficient and wasteful. Rearmament draws resources and increased demand and cost.

What is really needed to achieve what you want is a global Marshall plan style investment.

Chris - I’m not sure why you think it’s so unlikely? SCIR don’t have the resources to fund the work programme so we need a funding event soon if they are to keep going.

Of course funding is always available at a price. The BOD need to look at what is best for the company. I don’t think it is clear cut that funding at the current SP is the best route for SCIR shareholders. But neither of us have the detail needed to confirm.

There is a legal agreement. SCIR agreed to fund a work programme. If they can’t then there are legal consequences.

Our partners are not charities.

My understanding is that if SCIR fail to meet cash calls then they forfeit their stake. The other partners would pick up SCIRs share in line with their existing ownership %.

Please correct me if any of that is wrong.

Chris - SCIR will be spent out before first gas.m, and your friends in Oman will make sure of this IMHO.

Some have said their strategy is to outspend SCIR into relinquishment. Makes sense to me.
