Dropping out before the share price has hit 18p is just rude and self-centered. You banter away all day - with long term holders, like you’re best buddies and then you stab em in the back … why can’t you wait until I’ve sold out. Clearly you’ve only just arrived..
Oh and such so as you know my first in was 18p and my mistake was following it down thinking 12p was a bargain and 6p was a tremendous bargain! But one thing I have learnt is that a lot of AIM (in particular) just don’t make it.
Thanks schalfen for your kind post. Schadenfreude springs to mind. Just tipped out a load of GEMD at rock bottom prices, to balance out cgt before the year end just gone. 15 years trading and asides from pulling teeth while treading water there’s not much I can say. Save when I did have a 10% strict loss policy I made good money. Always so hard to tip out a share that’s falling big time but one thing I’ve learnt is if it’s falling and falling - jump out and move on. GLA.
The share price stays still or falls whatever the price of crude oil or condensate. Some years it moves up at the beginning of the year, but often it doesn’t. But I don't think the share price is what matters. We are more a sort of family, a lot of us have known each other for ten years. We have empathy and sympathy for our respective investment decisions. If you want a share that’s going to rise in price then you should probably consider Sinopec or Gazprom.
This one is a more rounded, genuine experience, it’s quiet hard to quantify. But we’d be delighted, if you come aboard, to join the [banter] team. It’s certainly been humming of late. All depends how much time you think you have and have left. You could easy make good bb friends for the next 20 or 30 years.
The advantage, I suppose, of actually buying a small holding is that you can probably pay a grand and have as many shares as those of us who have £50,000 worth of shares from way back when.
Interesting article, even if just a reminder, how long I’ve held and where we have come. As far As i can see :-
The gold price was about $1500 then
Mined oz 80/88 000 heading North
Share Price about the same as now
A sizeable hedge book to get rid of
VAT not being returned
Worries about the government
Whereas now
Gold price $1900
Mined oz 60/65 000 heading North, fingers crossed, in the near future
Hedge book 0
VAT on going being paid, historiv]c VAT stuck
Government more foreign business friendly
Confirmed oz skyrocketed
So all in all, I guess, maybe the share price is about right, but if they can pull things together, we should be back knocking at 20p in the next 12 months.
