Why is “to late” to average down? SP is pretty much as low as it’s ever been over the last four years?

DATTABASE1, you can’t blame folk for hitting the pause button on investing here. Some would call your decision to average down throwing good money after bad. Other investors might not be in a financial position to essentially gamble chasing that sweet, sweet PGM rainbow.
