Isn't helping the SP. Personally when all the belt and braces are in place (Egdon) Wressle will most likely go ahead. If that is NOT the case the the HM planning inspector would NOT have allowed an extension to the planning application. It would simply have been rejected and done with. I and others believe Egdon were thrown a lifeline after the planning report was published. Read it very closely especially areas that were of concern which in the last sentences of the paragraphs were pushed aside with a well earned. "Not worried about that" attitude from the HM inspector. Nothing at Wressle cannot be performed to appease both sides of the argument. I'll hazard a guess that should Wressle go ahead that both Egdon and UJO will probably thankful and show the community and North Lincs Council some form.of gratitude. Fiskerton for all intense and purposes is Plan B (always have a an B, or in the case of war Reinforcements) I believe Fiskerton is Dave plan B. He knows and has quoted that shareholder value is on his agenda. Far from draining the coffers Plan B is to shore up any expenses. Especially while the oil price is riding high with potential to go higher. Right for the doom and gloom, let's put one thing aside. I'm probably not supposed to say this. But after speaking personally with Dave he told me that 'Had Wressle gone ahead, he might have given himself a pay rise' That is the measure of the man. AT, really glad you've picked up on my Tesco share accolade, I can't envisage it being very long before we get news from one of our assets. Whether its 10 boepd or 40 boepd it helps keep any wolf from the door. I can only think that DB is taking this approach due to Wressle being put on the back burner for a while. Its a strategy, and its being played quite well. ;)

AZ, Personally I think ANY change or deviation from what was originally accepted constitutes removal of planning consent. Yes the boundary may have changed too and agin this would affect the origianl application. A resubmission stating its reason for expansion ( perhaps to increase the safety of the public or to reduce the effects of noise in proximity to the public would be valid reasons.) emphasis on "Security" makes the site sound very hazardous. I'm a big UJO fan but haven't really followed the progress of EOG. The kind of major construction and civil engineering sites I work on are always under the "Considerate Contractors Scheme" and we partner with the public. Hi Rudey, the fence must be of a specific height, normally between 2.4 meters and 3 meters, the latter being for good security. I enquired about a wall between my house and my neighbour to the planning department once. They replied if it was under 6ft 6" or 2 meters then planning was not required, nor was any definition of material. In construction its normally Herras Fencing, V-mesh or Palisade. You also have to display adequate signage too, Construction Site, Security details and especially if you have dog patrols. Not good if you don't say guard dogs a a member of the public gets his ar&e ripped off by Fido ! We have a plethera of people types using every trick in the book to prevent exploration and extraction. In the end it won't be Fido that bites them in the a$$. It will be rocketing green and carbon taxes. At that point they'll not take the blame and scuttle off back under their crotchet blankets.

From a Health and Safety perspective fencing would only constitute problem in its erection, material makeup, and proximity to the public. Under CDM all construction sites must be suitably secure against trespass etc. The material of the fence is important. Does it pose a hazard to the public? Does its position create blindspots on roads or paths. I would hope they didn't use razorwire?!?! Positives of the fencing, such as a sound barrier, it's colour in a natural environment. Green against green etc. Most would think a fence is just that.. but it's a minefield once you get started. And the public don't need a foot in the door to start a complaint.

Again I believe that the fencing problem was down to there not being planning permission for the fencing. Its almost of a rush job that costs in the long run. Put a fence up and circumnavigate planning. bites you in the A$$ every time. Your planning has to be bullet and fool proof.

Personally I like it like that. He's a bit like a swan on a lake, calm and serene on the top, but feet going like the clappers out of site.
