Hi Term, I don't think the strategy has failed, I think its more a case of the councils version of belt and braces. If they are wanting to visit the site, perhaps they are just checking to make sure Egdon are or have done what they claim, with referencing to Wressle.
If they see that all angles have been covered then they may well feel differently. I still think these local councillors are punching above their weight though, and that the locals feel as though they have been left out.
There are a number of wells, happily operating in Lincolnshire. Long forgotten by the locals and providing the local economy with revenue. One thing I find amusing is their concerns of pollution, Lincolnshire is the bread basket of the UK, but no one seems to complain about the amount of Nitrates and other fertiliser pollution that enters water courses.
