Its really frustrating that you cant buy BTC directly through Hargreaves Lansdowne. They must be losing a load in commission by not offering it ?

Oh and I did speak to HL who told me that they dont offer a Fund that even part holds Bitcoin shares. Is that correct ? I did look at a fund called XBT which does, but you cant buy that on the HL platform unfortunately. Sounded a bit snobbish in a way to me , as if they werent 'proper' shares . So I guess I have to make a decision to buy any Bitcoin elsewhere.

Anyway, I do hold Argo and KR1 , so hopefully they hitch a ride on the Bitcoin express.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was just a bit put off getting Coinbase a while back, just with the whole process, and reading about accounts being hacked (which may not relate specifically to Coinbase to be fair).
I also like that using HL I can use some of my SIIP to invest in ARGO.
So to answer my original question !.. there is some correlation between Argo and BTC I guess, as all I can see for the last 48 hours posts is this share is going to boom because Bitcoin has ?!

Hello all, relatively newbie here. I thought that the price of Argo would rise if the price of Bitcoin did. Can somebody explain if that isnt true or partially true ? Thanks. If not true at all, is there a way of buying into BTC on the Hargreaves Lansdowne platform, as I dont wish to use coinbase etc. Thanks in advance.

Some great and well spelled out advice on this thread. Im sure I fit into the sheep that have dipped their toe into Bitcoins, having seen some of the wild percentage rises over the last few months. We then see ours rise , but then get frustrated when they fall, far more volatile than shares, where a 5% rise or fall would be massive.

Is this the reason for todays drop so far? Everybody on here seemed bullish about today , after the news over the weekend on Polkadot ?

As a newbie I have found his videos interesting. Of course there are a lot of rampers around this whole Bitcoin , but he does seem to at least show reasoning behind his opinions.
Must admit Im hovvering over buying more KR1 in the morning . But is it going to jump up first thing before we can probably even buy thru the stockbrokers ?

Currently takes 30 minutes at least to even get through to HLansdowns share team to buy these shares as you can't do it online. I do feel for their team as must be really busy

Took my time working out today how many I was going to buy. Realised too late that on Hargreaves Lansdowne that you cant buy online , you have to ring up. Not the easiest team to get thru to currently, so hope can get thru early in the morning.
Having said that I read the above post about Barclays being cheaper to buy. As HL charge £12 plus 1% as on the phone.
I like this share as it shows a nice steady rise since August. It doesnt seem to be as volatile as other Bitcoin related shares.

Any news from Graham S about the share price ? Spent 2 years having the great excuse of blaming Brexit....Now I guess its the flu. Sorry for you guys who are still holding onto these shares tho.

I'm not experienced as you guys, so find it impossible to understand how MW get away with this ? Surely it's illegal practice to sell shares then release a statement saying a company is doing something illegally, thus driving the price down ?

Good too see other brokers coming out and praising Burford. I can just imagine all the genuine tipsters wanting this whole muddy waters to fall fat on their inflated big bums over this.

Jumped the gun and bought back in here at 8am. Going to hold for a while now as confident it will shoot back up once this blows over. Remember, just a short while ago massive Funds bought all the new issued shares at over £18 per share. Nothing has changed about the business. Without this fake news report the shares were steady around £15 .

Yes , shares can go up and down blah blah. But when a share plummets on false scare stirues by a so called company , then surely there should be sime action against Fools, and maybe some sort of recompense by them to shareholders who like myself got genuinely spooked and sold at 555p.

Gutted as this was a long term hold fir me. Ive made plenty last couple of years from this share. Luckily i sold some last week. Lesson learned for me to put sime sirt of stop loss on any fund ir share
