RE: When to sell? (Weekend ramble)3 May 2021 15:21
Wyn, "Personally I don't understand how anyone can "bet" £1000's on buying a stock and have no real idea what they expect from it or by when".
I never met an investor who didn't have an idea what they want as a target, frankly. Most may, in fact, change their targets as the realisation of the potential their share has materialises and their understanding of the business increases. I heard when I joined HE1 a little while back some of the posters here would be selling at 20p. I haven't heard one single one saying they sold and will wait for retrace now, have you; the last time I hear they sold at 14p and would be waiting for the 10p retrace to buy more... I guess they are still waiting.
I think anyone who feels this will retrace should stick to their words and sell and tell us they sold and let's observe how well they do on their trading? Of course, tell us when you bought back so we know you did well, but not after the share climbed to new heights. Any good trader or chartist can do that with now fear if they trust their tools, I guess.
For me, I have my targets and it way higher than an mere 100p I can assure you. I don't trade and I have been in some great O&G in the past and for me, once I am happy with all the information I gathered I simply hold.
Every investor to to their own.
