Got an interesting update on the Football League.
The Coral deal has come to an end and they are definitely being replaced. Formal announcements to follow in the next two weeks as new contracts are being finalised still. However, it is definitely Bet Butler, this was explicit in my conversation. The person I spoke to was very cagey on the subject of Worldlink, asked me to repeat the name and then declined to comment further. I asked if the person had heard of them and the response was "only because I used to be involved in the betting industry". I got the feeling the person was quite new and probably said to much. The person was much more comfortable talking about Bet Butler though.
You could read it either way. That they are not involved at all or that they are involved in some way but have to meet some conditions first which they haven't met yet or their particular side of the contract is still being discussed.
I think this might be a revenue sharing type deal like the Rymans idea rather than an outright sponsorship. Makes it affordable I guess. This is just a hunch though.
