Good day today, long may it last. @Herb, were you in Vast at one stage? (sorry for the off topic)
15k m3 is approx 94 boepd if my maths aren't failing me.
My journey here has come to an end, sold this morning. Best of luck all and particularly to the LTHs here who were in from higher prices.
Perhaps today's RNS was a feeler to see who would bite for 55p? Not long till we find out.
An interesting day today, seems Booth and co are happy to sell the business at what is a relatively bargain price. As others have said the IIs will have the final say. All to play for yet.
Interesting article over on ADVFN posted about an hour ago, a mention of 70p by Medco by some analyst. Perhaps I was wrong...
Would obviously love to see 70p offer but unfortunately just cannot see it happening. Personally I think Medco are a bunch of time wasters and their game plan (if indeed they had one) was odd from the outset. My prediction? No offer, and I would be happier with that outcome. I won't bet on it as it's just my gut instinct. I certainly hope I am wrong though.
Hopefully an offer will be forthcoming but as time goes by I get less hopeful. Tomorrow is another day however and the moves by some of the larger IIs are interesting to say the least. In the meantime I have my eye on another oiler that has tickled my fancy, but not enough to jump ship here.
I don't see an offer coming now from Medco, they know a low 50s will get rejected and they probably can't afford an offer which would be acceptable to most ie 60s. So hopefully they withdraw, we plough on earning a mountain of cash, reducing debt and purchasing other assets. Having said all that an offer RNS will probably arrive at 7am tomorrow!!
Excellent update today but unfortunately no reaction from the SP. All looking good here for the medium term and will look to add more later in the week.
I'm expecting a very positive RNS at 7am, fingers crossed it can be the shunt that gets us moving North. GLA.
I too am thinking of adding more but I'll wait a few days to see what the reaction is to Tuesday's update.
For a bit of fun does anyone care to speculate on what will happen this week? For me it's; - Official offer from Medco that is slightly higher than the 48.5p, perhaps 51p per share. - Board to reject offer - Potential for a third party to show their hand GLA
So now that Medco have shown their hand I think a lot of what happens next will depend on the trading update on Tuesday. I assume Medco have had access to this information as the books are open so to speak, perhaps the update is not as good as we anticipate but we will find out soon enough. My prediction (Not a wizard) was based on the SP range seeing as we had a spike to 50p and dropped back to low to mid 40s my assumption of a high 40s bid was correct albeit a guess like others here, after all the market rarely gets it wrong. Only time will tell what happens next, should Tuesday be a decent update we should tell Medco to take a long walk off a short cliff as over time we should be trading higher with the Santos assets and the ball of cash that brings in the coming years. Best of luck for next week all.
Sarah Bergen conversion of their initial tranche kicks in on the 21st Jan, 30 days after vast drew down the money (21st dec) if no update by this time next week lots of folks here (myself included) will have very sweaty palms
I am well aware of the filter option thanks. Please check my posting history as I have raised some points which may be deemed as "deramping" in some people's eyes and I have agreed with you and even backed you up on one occasion. Your message this evening was I believe a deliberate attempt to get a reaction and is not helpful to anyone.
Fantasy, I have in the past agreed with some of your observations and musings about our beloved share but I find your post this evening to be wholly distasteful. As a fellow shareholder (Which you previously stated you are) I would respectfully request you refrain from deliberately trying to get a rise from people who are genuinely suffering here in terms of significant losses, myself included. Let people ramp if they want, ramping on this BB or Twitter is not the reason for our current increasing SP (IMO)
I'll go with 48p as an initial offer.
I am lucky to have a low average here (compared to others) of approx 40p and I can't help recalling the last share I was in that was in a buyout situation. It was a very different scenario in that the SP had fallen off a cliff due to financial issues, the share was Sepura which some may know of. Wild and lofty predictions were made of 50 and 75p and the offer came in at..... 20p, I was disgusted naturally but I learned to take my profits when they present themselves. Now Ophir is completely different and if as some say it soars tomorrow I'll probably take some off the table as my last buyout lost me a fair wad of cash due to my high average and my stupidity/greed, this may be my chance to redeem that loss. Best of luck to all holders and those looking to get in tomorrow.
