The SP took a hit due to the placing of course and the gold dip since yesterday afternoon seems to have caused an over-reaction. Until that point we were back on what I would call a ‘normal trajectory’.

Hopefully the gold price will stabilise somewhat and we can get back on course.

Fair point EL. I understand it’s scary to see anything going down but no-one should be investing in miners based on a short term gold price surge (or dip).

My own base case for KEFI is $3,000 gold so I couldn’t be more relaxed tbh!

Slightly surprised at the price action today. For anyone of a nervous disposition, Mekele (in Tigray, Ethiopia) is between 800-1000 miles from Tulu Kapi, by road. This is like the distance between Calais and Rome, with much worse roads. The government has a stake in the mine and there will be an official launch ceremony within the next couple of weeks, with the president in attendance.

Two things happened yesterday.

1. Trump stated that he would be making a big announcement upon market close in the US. The announcement was nothing large but sparked rumours of the next Head of the Fed to be someone known to have an extremely hawkish position who prioritises strict monetary policy. This is the exact opposite of what Trump wants.

- These are textbook tactics to cool off overheating markets to avoid a blow off top. Did gold need cooling off? Yes

2. Unrest was reported in Tigray at the exact time that the US Deputy Secretary visits the country. Coincidence? Flights to the area are cancelled today but scheduled for tomorrow.

Also Trump stating that he will make a big economic announcement at 4:30pm ET. Global stocks dipped pretty quickly.

It certainly doesn’t hurt but an additional $100 of silver for every $9000 of gold won’t make a massive difference tbh. The value of the NPV is already huge. When the RNS is issued to confirm wet signatures received and on-site construction photos, the SP should finally catch up.

Step 1: Download ChatGPT

Step 2: Ask it to explain the recent RNS’s in simple terms and summarise, with particular emphasis on anything of concern for shareholders

Step 3: Ask it to assess whether the recent post-placing share price is bullish or bearish

Step 4: Ask it to explain why anyone would be trading the stock right now and whether this is of any concern for long term shareholders

Step 5: Ask it anything else you can think of on an ongoing basis (how to interpret L2 data etc…)

I actually assume there has been some panic selling from PI’s. Not everyone is as close to analysing company news, understanding RNS’s etc. They just see a decline from 1.8 to 1.5 to 1.3 and then below 1.2…..So they sell before it gets worse. Exactly the best time to buy, if you have any dry powder left that is….

I fully understand the skepticism over this, given the history with HA, but the consistent recent RNS wordings around final funding are very strong. The only element that is referred to as outstanding is the lenders’ final approval of the equity structure. Not unreasonable as they are the ones providing 70% of the funding.

TW has fed back that HA informed him that it is just his in-person wet signature that is needed for this, requiring him to travel to London from Australia. This is not unusual as a final procedural step and parties may also use it as an opportunity to meet in person to mark the milestone occasion.

I fully expect the next RNS to confirm this as complete.

If we are lucky we may even get wording that clearly states no further equity requirement is expected.

They are a combination of brokers and market makers' algo's testing liquidity as well as partial fills of buy/sell orders that might take place over several trades. There are no individual traders sitting there and specifically buying 3 shares @ 1.5p lol

Haha very true but I guess everyone has the right to post whatever they think and I suppose the forum would be quite quiet if everyone just waited patiently without comment unless there is major news :-)

Been away for a few days with almost non-existent internet and have come back to approx 25% SP drop following confirmation of $240m debt package and a huge derisking of the stock. WTF?
