Unemployment is being reported at 2.1%, but given the number now employed by the military, those that fled the country to avoid draft, remain unregistered to avoid draft and that many businesses are now furloughing staff, one really does need to take this with a massive 'pinch of salt'.

Go and ask a typical Russian whether they feel safer today than 4 years ago, how they're feeling about debt they're carrying, the additional VAT, the increase in fuel prices and 'recycling' charge on buying a car. Whether they're worried about their growing son's prospect of being sent to the front. I could go on.

And when I say 'typical Russian' I don't mean the affluent middle class who live in Moscow or St Petersburg!

People have their own reasons and I'd never criticise anyone for taking profit off the table (I've been guilty too many times of not taking my own advice!). But more importantly for the rest of us is the ask constantly creeping up, which it is ;)

I did say yesterday "at this rate we'll be back to 28p by end of month"...lol

But seriously, I really do think the tide is turning in Russia, fast.

That will in itself bring a different sort of uncertainty, but I think some are gambling on more positive outcome here.

I've said for a while that one way or another this war will be over by the end of this year. Obviously the politics and negotiations will rumble on, possibly for years. But I really don't see anyway Russia can carry on as they are

Ukraine is obviously winning this current game of brinkmanship and Putin last gamble (Trump) seems to have failed.

Most of my money is now being diverted into $ investments now.

Saw a very interesting video yesterday about Gold. If you look at price history using London market trading hours ONLY, it's actually been deflating for decades!

London is (was) just a trough people throw their money into and the pigs came and gorged themselves on.

That greed will be it's demise.
