The Wokingham handicap at royal ascot is the silver tuna for gamblers. I have for many a year bet 6/7k on loads of different horses in the race. Ie. 700 win on 10 different horses all in the same race. (favourite is usually 6/1 11/2 ). You back em high and lay em low. But you set the lay price before the race and leave it unmatched. Say back @ 10.5 700 win. Lay 700 @ 5.2. If it hits 5.2 in running you get the stake back. If it wins you get 3 k. Now times that with 9 other horses you may get lucky with 4. It's enough to win and win big. It's 6 furlongs and has 30 runners. That's how I make money on horses. Gl

With regards to the question the answer is ******. £1000 win on a horse at 1.21 in running pulling away with a furlong would be unmatched at most weekday meetings as it's to big.

You can make a living at it for sure. All be it you will work 40 hrs plus a week. The research and form is only backed up with the jockey/trainer/owner desire to win or try to win. You see prize money in small handicaps bearly covers costs. A stable in say Newbury traveling to mussleburgh is a round trip of 650 miles @.45p a mile plus race entry fee plus lad fee equals break even on the place and small profit on the win. If you own a horse that is only rated 70/75 then you van only race in that grade and the money is ****e. But if the horse don't race you ain't getting any fun from it and it ain't paying his/her way (2000 a month average fo trainer stable fees) I have owned horses before Ralph beckitt trained them(great guy) he would tell me the chances of him winning what race and track and conditions would suit and more importantly weight! like golf if you win a society day your handicaps will be cut to probably stop you winning again that season. Wether or not you have more up the sleeve only you know but if you go into competition with honesty and win well done you. But go into competition knowing your off 24 but capable of shooting a a 16 handicap score then your gonna win comfortably. Cheating?? You tell me. But when info like this is privy to the gambler how can you lose??
