For all potential newbies thinking whether to buy or not, one of the posters, ART, is a misery and always negative....it's the climbing the wall of worry scenario...don't worry...all looks good...don't get put off his posts
This extract from today's RNS should please ART and Jsmith "Everything we have done at BigDish over recent months has been focused on moving towards the goal of building a launchpad to enable rapid growth across the UK."
I think if I'm correct when I last spoke to him my understanding is that the results we're going to be coming out in April and that would be for the December year end
For the chatter about eatigo..... i asked Aidan. The eatigo app looked very different 2 years ago. Some of the bigdish user experience they copied from us. Joost Boer is world class when it comes to product development. At one point he had a few hundred food apps that he downloaded. Everyone looks to take the best bits of others. We introduced on photos where on iPhone you can enlarge by pulling down. Soon after Zomato copied it. Joost met one of the previous eatigo managers who said they always used to talk about our app design positively. Eatigo recently revamped their entire app.
To add - in Joost’s view the gold standard of user experience is the AirBnB app. We used to have focus groups and watch people physically interact with the app
I think it's more likely that TripAdvisor etc would buy bigdish rather than just eat etc buy bigdish ...if the Just Eat etc did then they would be simply cannibalizing their existing businesses as the models are different...one takes diners away from restaurants whereas bigdish's model brings diners back to the restaurant. Furthermore, don't forget that Deliveroo and Just Eat started from nothing so no reason why BigDish can't also grow from an acorn into a tree also ...however, I get the feeling that management would be quite happy to accept a buyout at approx £100 million and move on...if we get to £100 million why not be ambitious and become massive...but hey i can't complain with a 12 bagger from here...GLA to all incl dear ole ART and Jsmith !!!!! Lol...If we get to those levels let's all meet up for a good meal and drink and instead of counting the no of restaurants we can instead count the number of notes in our wallets lol
I see there is a lot of chatter about eatigo...Savored in New York were the first i think to do yield management and Groupon bought them in 2012..Zomato may have copied Yelp..Left may have copied Uber..Did Uber eats copy Deliveroo ? M&S announced they going to do more in food - did they copy Tesco? I think Google may have copied Yahoo..
Jsmith, I don't know why you ask here...the answer is given in the RNS dated 31st January
"The Company targets at least 200 restaurants for each territory. "
