The bigger shareholders, ie the institutions could be making a noise, and the board would have to listen. I suppose we are just to small for them to bother?

The Board care not one iota about retail.

Despite how s#it the management of this company have proved to be for years.

The most annoying thing for me, is still that I believe if no bid had arrived we would be in the 40's now.

My other resource stocks have been flying just on the metal price rises alone. Across the board, base and precious.

If they had a once of integrity, they would now say that the offer materialy undervalues the company and pull the exceptance.

Don't hold your breath.

A countrys growth rate can be very misleading if it's coming from a low base.

If I have a total net worth of £1 and the next year I have £2, I have a 100% growth rate.

I know it's sound obvious but you will be surprised how many people don't get that and are dazzled by growth rates.

If the Chinks don't get 75% can they not just make a higher offer at that stage ?

Who remembers the power cuts and the rubbish not being collected for weeks on end?

You obviously were not around in the 70's before the privatisation era, when things were owned by the state. We were the sick man of Europe and virtually bankrupt.

However bad the private sector, the public sector would be far worse. Strikes every 5 minutes unless they got their 12% above inflation .

In my previous post I suggested we would be better off agreeing the takeover if no other bid arrived, it would indicate to me that it's the best route to take.

Strange thing to say Bozi, considering you are, sharing your thoughts here.

I think if there are no other offers, that's a pretty clear sign about wheather to except this one or not?
