The regulater being backwd by the goverment have it in for utilities at the moment. Its a fashion thing to make it look like they have the poors interest at heart. The reality is the utilities are a scapegoat. Hopefully the political climate will change soon.

Would you want any? They would all be on artificially low ( loss making) tariffs which their new companies are obliged to keep them on, with the rest of us picking up the bill. The government and ofgem in their wisdom will end up encreasing household bills not reducing them.

I see the big mouth has turned up again. I'm more of an invester than a trader and I know of plenty of top Investers that don't like TA, Warren Buffet being one. I also personally know lots of city folk that are vety wary of it to say the least

Good point, but what's the difference between someone trading with a stop loss in place ie taking a small loss on a losing trade and letting a winner ride who is not using TA and someone who is using it.

You talk about a calm bull market for 1.5 years before volatility changing that, that volatility could of happened at any time. You can only see the calm 1.5 period retrospectively, a black swan event, Aggi producing a fantastic hole etc etc could of changed things dramatically at any time.
TA is mostly an exercise in looking back

The point I was making is that once the market moves like it did today the TA goes out the window. Therefore makes it only mildly useful in most instances

If I followed Buffets teaching to the letter, I would never have invested in solg which would have been a mistake, it does not mean he is not worth listening to does it?

Buffet would be proud to own 90% of my portfolio, He would think I'm nuts with my remaining 10%. I take a bit from everyone in life but just the good bits

Its called diversification! Don't love it just learn from it.
