Yours is not a 'bad plan' at all, it is a reasonable shareholder request borne out of exasperation after many years of towing the company line of - patience will be rewarded when economic conditions prevail - only to find once said conditions are achieved that it was not (as of yet) honoured. I as a resident of half a century living in the shadow of our principal asset and like you a vlth, support your proposal entirely, even if it does nothing more than at least remind the BOD, that other shareholders exist.

Just for note, I'm fully aware that copper processing facilities are not available in this country and a trip at least into central europe would be required for the round journey back, but the romance of integrating industries and getting the island working properly is an exciting prospect

Local MP (Ynys Mon), recently been hosting CEO of Tratos (industrial cable manufacturer), who are looking to open a new factory on the island. I guess they will be requiring copious amounts of copper for their order book.
If only there was a local source of raw materials and an operating seaport for ease of export!
I wonder if AYM, local and national governments and industry have ever thought about talking to each.
Probably not I suppose, as the BOD of AYM appear to have an embargo on communication.

Mike, thanks for the update on Lein Amlwch. On that development back in January '20 I wrote to Boris Johnson(PM), Andrea Leadsom (Business Secretary (at that time)), Rhun Ap Iorwerth (AM Ynys Mon) and Virginia Crosbie (MP Ynys Mon) outlining the potential opportunity to integrate Anglesey Minings ore production journey via the line using either a link close to the original Amlwch station or a new link in the Penrhyd area of Amlwch roughly approximately half a mile (as the crow flies) form the existing headworks. In a bid to explore a more environmentally acceptable transportation via train. Both Rhun and Virginia made some encouraging noises at the time in their replies. I was hoping AYM might explore this with both the local Welsh and UK national governments in an attempt to seek development funding, but as usual AYM radio silence ensued. Maybe I shall mention it again to our local representatives.

Far be it from me to criticise you as I enjoy your postings immensely but I'm afraid what I posted was not rubbish but factual from published papers used in the teachings for people studying project management borne out of many expert project evaluations including mining. (not mine I hasten to add, as my field of work has been in risk evaluation for major industrial engineering projects other than mining) I agree that the 6 -7 year is not ideal for an anticipated 12 year mine life but it does not necessarily make the project unfeasible as some of the other evaluation criteria are suitably attractive, and is potentially an area which could be re-assessed in due course with interested parties.
Just because other peoples industrial experience does not concur with your own view does not make it 'rubbish' or 'crazy' merely different and not necessarily wrong.

You make a good summary of the salient points. I neglected in my earlier post to comment on the IRR. As one of the categories in the 'Economic Values' in investment risk analysis, as Bill states "a 26% IRR is attractive"is exactly that, "historically investor companies prefer an IRR of 10 - 20% dependent on location and status" not my words but those from a survey of professional mining investors. Therefore 26% is wholly within the sphere of attraction for investment.

In my opinion todays PEA on the whole was far more positive than negative and was written from a well balanced viewpoint without overstatement or exaggeration.
For mine investment evaluation analysis a risk assessment matrix is generally employed attributing weighting to the qualifying criteria. The most critical are the 'technical risks' (e.g. geological factors) with on average a weighting of >40% in the final analysis. The geological factors appear good as assessed by internationally recognised engineers and therefore offer a very positive position for potential investors. Another category in the risk matrix is 'economic values' (e.g. payback period), these attract a weighting on average of 20%. It is always hoped that payback periods are as short as possible for obvious reasons, but typically in mining operations a period of 6 - 12 years is acceptable, a period of 3 years is usually only feasible for mine upgrade projects. In the three scenarios outlined in Cases A, B and C in todays PEA the payback periods indicated fall within the expected range for a mining project.
Professionals have been employed in production of this PEA and now investment professionals will do their evaluation. The BOD have confidence in what they have produced, and although LTH's like myself and others on this forum have questioned their wisdom over their procrastination, having waited this long I believe this PEA is better than was expected and look forward to the next stage of (pre) feasibility studies with enthusiasm.

For they must relay this to their loyal flock of 'LTH's'.
The news that there is soon to be 'an ePEAphany', and that thereafter three wise men, Kearney, Hooley and Varma will be travelling from afar bearing wondrous gifts of Lead, Zinc and Copper.
Whence this happens there will be great trumpet fanfare and much joy, and the loyal flock of LTH's will all make a pilgrimage to gaze in ore (poetic licence), at the 'Amazing Mine of Many Colours'
