RE: Hand held nebuliser!!26 Apr 2020 18:32
Just a reminder, TILS IL-6 inhibitor, TZLS-501 and nebuliser/inhaler patented technology, is in development to treat a host of autoimmune diseases and not Covid-19, and has block buster potential in the treatment of the autoimmune diseases listed, it's only by coincidence that it could be a possible treatment of Covid-19, and so if Sanofi's patient trial data for their IL-6 inhibitor, Kevzara, isn't good, then TZLS-501 will still continue to be developed for possible treatment for Rheumatoid arthritis , Cystic fibrosis etc etc, but if Sanofi reports positive trial data, expected imminently, then TZLS-501 will definitely be in the spotlight big time, given its reported distinct advantages over Sanofi's and Roches IL-6 inhibitor....Fingers firmly crossed for big news from Sanofi which will very likely propel TILS sp substantially UPwards.Gla holders....Roll on Monday!!! :-)
Anti IL-6rWe are developing a fully human monoclonal antibody (mAb) targeting the receptor for IL-6. This asset was in-licensed from Novimmune in January 2017.IL-6r mAb has a novel mechanism of action, binding to both the membrane-bound and soluble forms of the IL-6r, blocking the IL-6/IL-6r complex as well as depleting circulating levels of IL-6 in the blood.Excessive production of IL-6 is regarded as a key driver of chronic inflammation, associated with autoimmune diseases such as multiple myeloma, oncology indications, severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), lupus, autoimmune inflammatory diseases and rheumatoid arthritis. We believe that TZLS-501 may have the potential therapeutic value to fight these indications. In preclinical studies, TZLS-501 demonstrated that its novel mechanism of action has the potential to overcome the limitations of other IL-6 blocking pathway drugs.Tiziana’s anti-IL-6R mAb binds to both the membrane-bound and soluble forms of IL-6R and rapidly depletes circulating levels of IL-6 in blood. Excessive production of IL-6 is regarded as a key driver of chronic inflammation and is believed to be associated with severe lung damage observed with COVID-19 infections and acute respiratory illness. China’s National Health Commission has recommended the use of anti-IL6-R mAbs for treatment of inflammation and elevated cytokine levels (“cytokine storm”) in COVID-19 patients. A recent study also reported that COVID-19 infection caused clusters of severe respiratory illness likeARDS.
