Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity across pharmaceutical and biotech sectors has accelerated significantly in 2026, extending the strong recovery that began in 2025.

A recent surge in dealmaking underscores the industry’s focus on portfolio expansion and continuous pipeline innovation, alongside a growing emphasis on AI-driven drug discovery. Oncology and immuno-oncology companies have always been at the top of acquisition targets. Major players are actively pursuing licensing agreements and collaborations around promising drugs and candidates to further strengthen and diversify their core portfolios.

Road Ahead in 2026

Consolidation remains a key theme as companies seek to offset patent cliffs and diversify revenue streams. Acquisitions offer a faster, less risky route than in-house development, especially as innovation cycles shorten.

With strong cash reserves and increasing adoption of advanced technologies like AI, M&A activity is expected to remain robust through 2026. Smaller biotechs, often constrained by funding, will likely remain prime acquisition targets, further fueling deal momentum.

Shouldn't be too long before some UPward momentum with Genflow presenting this week, and patent news along with Dog Study endpoint data expected soon, and every chance if a JV commercial licensing deal was close, then a Tier-1 Animal Healthcare Company would want one of their executives on Genflow's BoD, hence the timing of Mr King's departure!!!??? Anyways, he's 70 and is busy in other ventures, and so good luck to him, and your suggestion of a sell off is ludicrous, and I'm expecting the opposite as we fast approach a very exciting period. Genflow Biosciences Plc (LSE:GENF)(OTCQB:GENFF) ("Genflow" or "the Company") an emerging leader in the field of longevity research, focused on developing therapeutic solutions for the prevention of age-related diseases is pleased to announce that it will hold its Annual General Meeting ("AGM") at 11am on Monday 29 June 2026 at One Heddon Street, London, W1B 4BD.

The Notice of the AGM ("Notice") and Form of Proxy will shortly be available on the Company's website, www.genflowbio.com, and have, where applicable, been posted to shareholders. Further details of the arrangements for this year's AGM are set out in the Notice.

As announced on 30 April 2026, the Company's Annual Report and Accounts for the year ended 31 December 2025 are also available on the website and have, where applicable, also been posted to shareholders.

Board changes

The Company also announces that Peter King-Lewis, an Independent Non-Executive Director, is stepping down from the Board with immediate effect.

The Board would like to sincerely thank Peter for his valuable contribution to the Company during his tenure as a Director. His commitment and unwavering support has been instrumental in helping guide the Company from its IPO through to its current stage of development.

Cheers Steg, the crossover and subsequent validation of Genflow's strategy is startling, and we could be further forward given the pre-clinical data accumulated, ip protection and IND application in progress, not to mention Acuitas Therapeutics gold standard delivery technology. NewLimit have received $600m over the last 12 months and so surely, only a matter of time before a Major Pharma decides something similar for Genflow. Incredibly exciting times, especially with news of the Dog Study, Patent and potential JV licensing deal so close, which would be transformational in itself, but if the Sirt6 Gene Therapy works like magic in Dogs as it did in mice, then the translation to human couldn't look stronger and would attract the attention of every Major Pharma. Due diligence in progress on multiple fronts, Exciting times!!! Gl :-)
