I don't see it. Presumably HUI will also need to build their plastic recycling plant before accepting their first DMG unit. Peel have a one to two year head start.
Key to the whole thing will be commissioning of the first unit next year to provide proof of concept. The order book will then take off.
Imo it is certainly NOT all doom and gloom. Thanks go to Dr A and a number of others who are really helping to keep my spirits alive. The only problem we have is the falling SP. This is mainly due to PIs short sighted vision and will produce a wonderful opportunity for those now out to get back in.
My take is that the DMG development time table is embedded in the overall Protos project which is determined by Peel and parts of this seems to be still evolving. This is to be expected in a major FOAK development. TY has limited influence over it and personal criticisms are unwarranted.
My positive take is that as the Protos project evolves so does our involvement in it. We now have a road map along the way to eventual commissioning in 2023. We have now learned about a number of key milestones which need to be met if we are to be able to process the unrecyclable plastic waist produced by Protos in 2023. It confirms the importance and significant dependence of the overall Protos project on the DMG unit functioning as planned. I can only emphasis that IMO a great deal is resting on PHE delivering, and the fact that the project is progressing gives give us all confidence in the underlying technology. The extended time table gives the technicians time to get it right - very important and entirely in our interest!
Patience will be rewarded!
I could imagine the future for DMG will be very long indeed when one considers the absolutely vast amount of waste plastics in the world.
Success here might even bolster increased use of plastics in the future. I think DMG tech has a very long potential life.
I note on the ABDX (Abingdon Resources Health) BB Fri 21:47 there is reference to ABDX getting together with Vatic to produce their antigen test. This raises the question of competition for not only markets but also for production resources.
Looking at the Vatic web site one has to conclude that this represents serious competition on both fronts.
Looking further down the ABDX BB, I notice reference to the German list of Antigen tests authorised for professional use and separately for self or home use. The former is many pages long and even the latter is long. It would be very difficult for the newly arrived Avacta test (professional use) to draw attention.
This is where the UK authorities could play an enormous role. They could now begin to authorise tests for home use in the UK but set an extremely high bar for entry. In this way they could help draw attention to the very few excellent tests available including Avacta and some other UK based tests and help get UK production underway.
Come on GB get on with it!
I get the impression that EngSolv may be the main drivers of the technical developments.
Do they own or have any say in any of the patents to the DMG process?
Might this be the beginning of a merger or take over?
What is DR's role going forward? I understood he would be taking the first unit to completion.
I find this development rather unsettling and warrants more explanation from the board.
Extraordinary progress reported! My take on it is:
patients' increased survival rate / return to normal
reduced time in hospital / intensive care
huge relief to hospital intake due to the home treatment.
This has to be enormous!
These foreign exchanges are very illiquid and show prices that may not have moved for hours or occasionally days. Don't read too much into the prices shown more especially where the UK price has a high spread as in the PHE case.
I agree wholeheartedly. Sitting here in Germany media emphasis is on vaccinations and antegen testing tends to be rubbished. There is a third leg which is widely ignored, and that is therapeutics. It seems to me that anyone testing positive could be offered a Synairgen nebuliser to kill the bugs before symptoms arise. But there is next to no discussion of this possibility.
Does anyone have information re this possibility?
Here in Germany Antegen tests have just gone on the market and are available through Aldi and Lidl discounters.
An 83 year old friend of ours went out and bought a pack of five for 25 Euros.
She went home and used all five. Result:
2 positive, 2 negative and 1 pregnant!
A joke, but it says quite a lot about how little confidence people have here in these tests. Reminiscent of the Astazenica vaccine.
Markrops. I think you are looking at only the first half of the cycle, ie: separation of Hydrogen from Oxygen through electrolysis. In the second half of the cycle Hydrogen is reunited to Oxygen by burning or in fuel cells. The resulting water goes up into the atmosphere and falls as rain where it started.
In the case of the DMG process the second part is the same. The first part is more complex. The Hydrogen is fixed into plastic, rubber etc through their manufacturing processes, and comes from oil and other raw materials much of which originated under ground. In that sense it may even contribute to an infinitesimally small rise in water levels.
But like you I am no expert.
da80: My wife has a shares in SFC. They have just landed a very big order and the price spiked this morning.
I would warn you that the German market reacts to news differently to the UK market, I find it very unpredictable. Not surprisingly the price has declined during the day and may continue to do so. As a play on fuel cells I much prefer Ceres Power on the UK market which through the Bosch tie up also sells its product in Germany and in my opinion has a better business model going forward.
If you wish to continue this conversation it would be appropriate to do so on the CWS board. DYOR
Hello Dai80. I am British and resident in Germany and my wife, German, does some limited trading on the German Stock exchanges (there are several city based plus XETRA).
You don't say which stock you are interested in. In general you could ask your broker to trade for you on the Frankfurt exchange, but you should expect higher trading costs and 25% withholding tax on dividends. Do you have access to German stock exchange news?
My advice to you would be to stay clear. But I might be able to discover something with respect to your particular share.
Many thanks for the responses to my message of 13:28. Most illuminating. The discussion here in Germany also relates to LFT antigen testing for the whole population perhaps once per week sometime in the future. No companies are being mentioned, same conspiracy as in UK. I'll try to keep you informed as matters develop.
I am resident in Germany and I note that discussion in the media in respect of future mass testing is leaning towards the use of gargling as preferred method of sample collection especially in schools. I understand this method is already being used in Austria and Canada and am therefore surprised that there is so little discussion on this BB.
