Papa, at the end of the day you have to do what is right for you. However, that said, I find words like 'every day, I may or may not come home.' concerning.
I think it might help to keep things in perspective. Firstly, your health and that of your family is most important. Money comes and goes. Bad times pass also. Time is a great healer. Secondly, it is far from game over here, if anything the ducks do appear to be being lined up. Either that, or we are all being lied to. Assuming we are not, then don't allow your frustrations to lead you into making emotional decisions - both monetary and physically.
Finally, I'm going to share something even my immediate family don't know about. I've known extreme success and failure with one company myself. In the middle of lockdown this particular company floated on Nasdaq and at times there were personal $40-50k movements in one day. At one point I was up about $500k (I'm a average Joe, so yes this was a lot to me) and thought, at last, here is the whopper - I'm going to make a million bucks aren't I and then I'll be done. Well, obviously that didnt happen, it topped out, started falling, I didnt sell, always thinking it will go up again....lost the lot in the end. But I'm still here, wiser for the experience - a fool yes, but a wiser fool, for the experience.
Take care...
