OptiBiotix Health plc (AIM: OPTI), a life sciences business developing compounds to tackle obesity, high cholesterol, diabetes and skin care, announces the appointment of René Kamminga ("René") as Chief Executive Officer ("CEO") of OptiBiotix Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of OptiBiotix Health plc. OptiBiotix Ltd contains OptiBiotix's SlimBiome®, SweetBiotix®, and microbiome modulating technology platforms. The intention is for René to join the OptiBiotix Health plc Board subject to completion of normal regulatory due diligence.

I'm now guessing that the old probiotix health ltd subsidiary becomes dormant and the new probiotix health ltd (1 share issued of £1 owned by Optibiotix Health plc) takes over (currently only Stephen as director) and owns the old probiotix health).

Presumably there is some commercial reason behind this - at the moment it leaves the old with its 3 Directors Mikkel Hvid-Hansen , Adam Reynolds and Stephen whereas at present the new has only Stephen.

The old had 100,000 shares 10p ordinary issued owned By Optibiotx Health plc.

and whilst I don't know the reason for the delay (you may or may not be right) it is an important factor in the overall opti picture - if not the most important going forward - albeit generating an overall profit, as opposed to each division is profit making - before taking total overheads in to account, is ultimately our company's valuation and ditto sustainable sp

Microbiome Modulators (MM's): The Company has developed an innovative approach to allow it to precision engineer the microbiome. This is one of the most exciting areas of microbiome therapeutics as it creates the potential for targeted treatment of a range of human diseases. The Company has demonstrated it can selectively enhance a probiotic and enhance its health benefit demonstrating proof of concept for using MM's as a microbiome therapeutic. Development work was impacted by COVID reducing access to Universities and CRO's in 2020 and early 2021. This work has now progressed and we are pleased to report the Company has produced microbiome modulators using a process suitable for industrial scale up. Work is ongoing to optimise the process and test whether the functionality has been retained before initiating full scale up and commercialisation. This is a really exciting area of development which if successful, the Company believes could revolutionise the use of the microbiome therapies in healthcare. The Company will be increasing its investment in Microbiome Modulators to accelerate the development activities taking place.
