The danger there is others wanting the same. It’s a united front vs a lone wolf going off and doing their own things. I’m fascinated to see if things will hold together or not on that front can go either way.

Just caught up with the opec news. Interesting to see it’s not be dealt with yet. Meantime looks like higher prices short term till it’s resolved unless UAE goes nuclear and leaves opec to pump freely. No idea what’s going to happen on this one cause Russia is keen to open the taps and they maybe concerned with UAE stealing market share.

I see my filters been working over time can only guess the culprits and the topic. Any hooooooo I’m excited to see how the UAE deal plays out either it’s going to blow over like nothing happened or there’s a massive risk of the market pulling back due to a risk of UAE dropping out of opec all together and a free for all frenzy. This July period will be quiet with the holiday seasons look out for potential profit taking to fund holidays this summer and watch out for that 3rd week of July Friday. Much respect happy for the response on the actual post. I tend to disagree UAE is the 6th biggest exporter in front of Iran. I think obviously Russia and Saudi having final say is key and they don’t want to give into such demands as it’s a domino affect let one of the group pump more then the rest will want concessions. What I do know is markets don’t like uncertainty so the longer it drags it usually is negative however these are strange times so it could have the complete opposite effect. I see Chinese markets finished 2% down overnight let’s see how today plays out. I’m also expecting options expiry this month to have some downward volatility before the results.

Why is it some posters seem so temperamental about me selling and giving my reasons. I even said to razu I may have sold a day too early all I'm doing is banking a profit that's what we're all here for. Where am I saying bp is a bad company am I saying it's going back to 250p or 500p come on give me a little credit here. Reason why I say I bought or sold is so later if I get the call right or wrong there's evidence that I called it prior. No deramps on bp part but also I'm not a rose tinted glass investor. If you wish to believe the people who say buy this is your last chance go ahead. All I posted is UAE wants to pump more it's factual will it affect things maybe. Big impact when it comes to their rostneft stake. But bp is quite well positioned because the NOCs will be taking more and more market share as time and climate pressure goes on. Unless bp is forced to sell its rostneft stake it’s going to benefit largely from that. Looking at bp portfolio on a longer stretch it looks a bit light I hope looneys actually staying true to quality over quantity assets as profits look largely dependent on trading profits and right now there’s only one direction but what happens when that changes. Short term medium term good future but as a lot of posters mentioned past few days longer term looks blurry.

Wasn't going to post here but, Mark don't be so dejected i know it's frustrating but, just got to roll with the good times and the bad there's always some volatility round the corner. OPEC decision will likely meet market expectations and not affect oil that much. I remember when you had confidence behind the share. The results round the corner now wait for it then assess the impact to the business and decide if you want to stay in. Remember tomorrow is a new day and month lets see where market sentiment takes this. ignore the extreme ends of the price spectrum that's just noise for the time being both north and south set a target keep to it and adjust with news flow.

Still invested here. Disappointed to see it back down here but not a shocker I was tempted to sell last week when the price dipped down to 327 after the initial hit at 329p but decided to wait as I felt that RDSB hitting 14.50 would of saw BP hit 335p but it wasn't to be. Missed a nice juicy profit on that one but can't get every call right.

Been keeping up with the on goings of the board etc. I think like most people said the dip is just really down to end of the month new OPEC policy for the new month I expect the price to head back up from these levels leading into the H2 results its also hit the bottom in my opinion based on the TA indicators I use.

I don't know if oil is going to be rerated anytime soon it looks like even if we hit $80 the old highs are a long way off and I kind of agree with Zac in that a massive re rating has taken place due to business viability in the longer run. Whilst oil is not going anywhere soon the ramp up in ESG investment is taking away cash from oil. I read an article the other day which mentioned a lot of hedge funds are just trading oil prices rather than owning big oil atm. I'm still aiming for a modest 340s by end of July.

Going forward I think I will completely shift away from oil and focus on the mining industry it seems like even if they cause damage to the environment it's necessary evil for the next phase of energy consumption plus mining commodities are far more diversified. On another note Climate pressure is mounting Canada is seeing temperatures of 46 C it's odd we had a year with mostly grounded planes and yet we are experiencing more extreme weather conditions go figure I'm no scientist but would love to hear the opinion of the cause potentially we are using more energy being at home?.

Also to add I wish I did buy Glencore instead of beeps when I was weighing the two up even bhp they both bounced significantly off the prices I was looking at and have held far better than BP but such is the game. Anyway Good luck all.
