The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
I forwarded the original HL message to the Takeover Panel and they contacted me about it. Interesting now to note that HL are backtracking. Perhaps the HL employee that made the claim that it came from Shanta Gold made an error.
CeeD, 'Hindsight is a wonderful thing' as my old mum used to say. I was as gutted as the next of us but we had little control being in nominee accounts. They've won this time but karma will bite them on the backside one day, whether we hear about it or not.
Best of luck to all. Onwards.
Hi, thanks for Thomas Grace's email. I have sent him the message sent to me by Hargreaves. There may not be anything he can do apart from verify that information with HL but it's important that he knows about it.
And now we wait.
To add some reassurance, I have received this as well as a rather panicked secure message from HL stating that it was Shanta that had told them to nullify the previous votes BUT that on seeking clarification elsewhere, they are assured that previous votes WILL be counted and that if we have voted more than once, only one vote will be counted.
Mine's a gin and tonic tonight. Well done everybody. We did all we could.
That last part's a shame but there we are - we are more honest than the board!
All my votes have been re-set to as though I have not voted.
I've re-voted all our votes again on HL and ii. Thinking logically, whilst there has clearly been a successful attempt to withhold information from private investors, this voting fiasco cannot be due to anything the company is doing. It appears that several (all?) broker platforms are affected. To me, this says more about deeply concerning issues with electronic voting.
By the way, some brokers are stating that the voting cut-off is 6pm today, others the much earlier 2pm. What are others here seeing? I'll check again later today.
Unbelievably, my shares plus family accounts appear to have had votes vanish so thank you to the various people on here who keep prompting us to check. Despite 'Instruction Given' notifications, when I clicked through each one, six had no response. I've voted 1,499,200 shares once again across family members. I've lost count of how many times I have done this - 4 or I think. I'll check again tomorrow.
I'm at the stage where I am looking forward to it being over tbh. The opportunity cost of continuing to hold Shanta shares over the past three months has been quite considerable. Here's hoping we can achieve a satisfactory outcome but I'm ready to move on.
Thank you for the heads-up. I thought that surely I had no need to vote again, that I was up-to-date, but no, there are indeed more votes required. This feels manipulated. I wish there were some form of public censure and redress as there is little likelihood that PIs have come back and checked their platforms and voted again.
