A lot in the press today on the back of ofgem's publication today and a citizen's advice survey... the basic takeaway is to judge a supplier by customer service more than super low tariffs. The articles I've seen on CityAM, Independent etc. Is more domestic consumer focussed but if anyone can find something similar for business energy then please share. Good to see Yu always putting a focus on customer service though.

I would think so since the RO payment is not made, ofgem remove the supplier license and have less to redistribute. All cases are documented on ofgem's website for your reference. On the flip side, as competitors fall, the market opens up for those remaining. Yu still sees it main competition as the big 6.

Since some money is redistributed in Jan 2020 in this case, I don't know how Yu normally communicate this and its timeline. Net payment was around 1.1m last time

Haha fair enough. I didn't see them putting a figure since accounts were shown for H1 2019 only. It would have been nice to put in a ballpark figure but I don't see the figure being anywhere near what some suggest being 11m

Ojls, do you happen to know how many RO certifactes Yu have to present. Payment is only needed for the "leftover". Also, does anyone know how many certifactes in total Yu is obliged to have. Energy intensive industries are exempt from RO altogether

AdamH90, judging by trade sizes, the market is just PIs atm. No holdings RNS has been issued in a long time. No large short position has been recored either. With a relatively small free float, the SP rises and falls relatively fast. I get how this helps short term traders of which I am not. I'm a LTH. I appreciate reasoned debate but to latch on to the RO payment and say it'll almost wipe out the cash in bank is not something I buy unless shown otherwise.

Thanks moneyspider for the input. I read the same Sunday Times article written by Ali Hussain. That is heavily focussed on domestic energy, price caps and, yes, RO payments. If you can provide details on how you come to £11m on ofgem's website then I'd appreciate it. From what I've seen on ofgem's website, I don't see how its simply a percentage of turnover and how Yu's net contribution can go from 1m to 11m. Generally speaking I get the fact RO is a bit like VAT

Maybe because they don't know the exact figure?! Its circa 0.48 ROCs per MW produced at a rate of circa £48 per ROC for each subject to the amount of certificates delivered. The net RO payment was just over £1m from last year (check this on ofgem's website). This is still a large figure but way off the 17 odd million they have. The cash in bank is geowing at around 500k per month

CFO bought 50k worth at 165p. BK bought more at over 200p and owns over half the shares. The Board salaraies are in the annual reports. Only BK earns 250k. The others earn much less.

From last week's RNS. The company has the cash but some posters think the BoD are lying and will run out of cash. Ofgem's 2017/18 final statement has Yu Energy paying net of £1m. I can't say how much next month's payment will be.

38k worth of sells with over 10k buys and this has dropped 13%!!! Symptom of low free float. More buys than sells o those days this doesn't go up by the same.

I don't know the answer to your specific questions but for 2017-18, Yu presented 105,549 ROCs out of 144,551. They paid £1,777,711.16 and £617,740.00 was redistributed. Have Yu even said how many ROCs they have versus what they need?

Good post. For those into Yu from this year only, we are only at these levels because of the FCA investigation, which came up with no fines. PwC and DLA Piper have come and gone at the behest of Yu so talk of Yu going bust and being a sham is far fethed. Yu does not owe money to banks and has a food amount of cash in the bank.
