I anticipate the update to be w/c 27th personally. If SP can stay around this level at least, and assuming the update is in line wiyh what mgmt have said, I'm hoping we can start a proper SP recovery to where things were before FCA. In any case, good to see sustained trading in Yu for now

Relatively quiet trading today compared with the last few days. Like others, I eagerly await the next update but am a LTH in any case. My expectation of the update is to be just what mgmt has said. I don't expect profits but a marked improvement and an insight to show Yu will become profitable in 2020 or early 2021 at the latest. I'm comfortable with the company and how it is run. At a macro level, UK wholesale energy prices have fallen throughout 2019 and continue to do so. Gas is well supplied and wind power has come a long way. Next few years wholesale prices in the UK are forecast to stay that way. This helps profit margins. There is a real push for smart meters and EV charging in the UK that should play into Yu's favour. The new hedging facility was a masterstroke. Water is another growth area. All in all I don't see why Yu can't hit its margin targets. The SP should follow suit.

I note Calisen pushing for a London listing targetting a $1bn+ valuation and Ofgem news this morning forcing 9 energy companies to ise DCC.... Yu is already using DCC and offering smets2 devices.... is there a significant income from these for Yu or more about streamling the industry?

GnErgy reported to have lined up large foreign investment for it to pay off its circa £680k RO bill... goes to show there is still an appetite for UK energy companies and Yu will get some of that RO payment...

For the LTH I suppose, updated stats showing increased renewable energy generated and more ROCs issued... bodes well for Yu

Why is this not going up with all the buys?

The total £10m hit from last year's accounting issue took the company from being "profitable" to not. That said, the mcap today I feel is too low just considering cash in bank and now this new hedging facility alone. Either way, new investors are more likely to come in with each step forward like this week's RNS and the update due in January for FY 2019

I agree. A significant step change for the better for Yu. Yu's hedging strategy was something BK stated was under review. This new direction is much better than I personally anticipated. UK wholesale energy prices have fallen during 2019 and present forecasts don't show for much of a rise. All in all, various metrics are looking supportive of Yu's ambition to get to profitability and high single digit margins.

BK owns over half company.... I don't see him selling for that. Smartest deal could be a precursor to a merger down the line...

Very good move. Hopefully Smartest just buys Yu in time...

On a side note, some new statistics on the BEIS site and these show renewable generation and ROCs issued (these go together) are on the up... hopefully Yu have been buying related energy that can be presented later...
