Monte Muambe - Gallium Discovery29 Apr 2026 09:42
Key Details of the Discovery:
Location: Monte Muambe, Tete Province, Mozambique (4 km wide circular carbonatite structure).
Mineralization Style:
Gallium is found within fluorite-rich carbonatites and associated with blue and yellow fluorite outcrops.
High-Grade Findings: Early drilling (Hole MM039) showed intercepts from surface to 100 metres averaging 77 g/t (ppm) gallium, including a 14.89-metre section grading 141 g/t.
Key Association: Gallium is strongly correlated with neodymium and praseodymium (REE) in drill samples, suggesting it can be recovered as a byproduct of REE production, rather than just zinc or bauxite.
Fluorspar Connection: Recent findings also link gallium to fluorspar-rich Zones (up to 550 g/t Ga in some samples), indicating a dual potential for recovery.
Resource Potential: Three major gallium soil anomalies have been identified, with values up to 190 g/t, pointing to a wider distribution than initial drilling.
