Pretty smart move by CB when you think about it.

Mankayan was making no progress occupying space where it was invisible to investors, prospective buyers and the financial markets. So, he merges it with an ASX-listed entity getting a modest value for the BZT holding of ca. £2M.

Now that Mankayan is seen by the markets as one of the largest and high-grade copper porphyries globally - at a time when the markets are desperate for new discoveries - what happens ?

The value of the BT holding in Mankayan more than doubles to £4.4M inside a week.

What is the betting a major or mid-cap will now spot Mankayan and make a counter offer way ahead of the present valuation ?

This is super news at the strategic level but will probably have little effect on the SP other to allow the 'bed wetters' an exit at 1.1 or 1.2p thinking they have done so well. Sad really.

Sadly if you read carefully I think they have awarded themselves a small percentage of the deal value. On what basis eludes me. We should have had a one-off dividend - even if it would be nominal

Good presentation but why has there been no announcement about its existence ?

Will we get a tip in one of the New Year listings ? Also, the market cap is creeping towards the £100M mark where a few of the MicroCap Tracker Funds will be forced to acquire shares on-market. Being in the utility sector we are attractive to some Trackers who have a perverted sense of social justice by not investing in oil, gas and mining - even though the sectors make very good returns for shareholders. Still, it works in our favour I suppose.

Looks like the 'catch-up' has been postponed. Reading the markets is fraught with uncertainty. Still, no selling pressure.

We need a Trading Update

Nothing is this for Yu I am afraid. Octopus get the business as well as domestic customers. Apart for a few disillusioned folk, who might switch to Yu I am afraid this is a damp squib.

There is something in what you say. I hold a big block of Yu in a Nominee account. 3 weeks back I had a call from my Broker to say they had been approached ( did not say who by) to see if I would sell the whole block ( 6 figure number) off-market at a price that would be discounted by 5% from the mid-price. My reply was short and sharp but it may well suggest Institutional interest. It would be very difficult, almost impossible, for any institution to enter the fray now and acquire a six-figure block of shares on-market. The SP would go through the roof. Interesting. Anyone else had this experience ?

It is notable that there is a recurring theme about YU Group on the BBs. Excellent company and equally good prospects but very poor media and investors comms and relations. There is no reason why a Trading Update should not be published next month or in early December. If their Broker had any gumption and commitment to earning their fees, they would be getting Bobby K on to various podcats column inches ( where it matters) and investor forums and shows. Why or why can't they see that investors matter !!

Well put and yes, a Trading Update would be most welcome next month and a sign that the company is beginning to understand the need to keep investors informed on a regular basis. The PR and investor relations here have been awful historically.
