The Slovenian Prime Minister could always intervene here and personally review this case/situation. A reverse in the judgement on His instructions would save face all round. It’s highly unlikely He would though. I have to say I’m disgusted it’s come to this. A refusal to allow development of the site on environmental grounds should have been made at the very beginning of the process. Not 50 million euros and X number of years later.

And the legal eagles amoungst you here are all expecting the Legal system in Slovenia to be much like the UK - Fair, efficient and without bias or corruption? Please tell Me what you are basing that faith on considering what’s happened with AST and the permits so far?

What He should have said was that it’s easy to reject previously granted permits on a whim, but a long and painful process to re-apply for them.

How many times have you heard a Politician make a statement and not carry through with it in either detail or policy? I haven’t read all of His comments in detail so don’t hammer Me if I’m wrong but what an elected official wants and what He actually gets are not always the same thing. Once this guy dives deeper in to the AST application detail He may we’ll have His concerns answered quite quickly.

I think everyone needs to take the emotion out of it If a placing sustains the company for a year and there is a better than 80% chance that all of the required permits arrive within that time then I’d be ok with it.

I totally agree with that Stockdale. I think it was mentioned here some time ago that AST needed to employ someone skilled and experienced in the art of PR and writing a RNS. The result of not doing that has been clear for all to see.
