There must be a law of diminishing returns on acquiring new brands, especially in the Top Shop/ Miss Selfridge customer profile.
Any one who shops there will 100% be aware of Boo Hoo. If your local Top shop closes what are you going to do? Go to the next fashionable outlet in that price range which will almost certainly include Boo Hoo.
In my Gdr SWOT analysis, the fact that Beckman want to use GDr products is a convincing reason for continuing to hold.
Until we hear that the USA has stopped Covid testing or Beckman has another partner then I’m holding.
Also the hearing test... I’m pretty sure every hospital in the US will be buying that for fear of litigation for negligence if they do not test every new born who needs antibiotics.
I’m with HL and I sold 10k shares thus afternoon, but did not update. I repeated the trade and again system did not update. Now I am in negative shares and two cash transactions up. I also could not get into the platform after this and could not get through on the phones. I am extremely disappointed in this platform and as definitely going to change to a more reliable one.
Agree PP. If those sales come from the US Beckman deal then it must put Genedrive in a strong position, especially given Joe Biden’s earlier statement regarding testing.
All is not lost on the covid front... at least not yet IMHO.
Thanks PP.
Thinking about buying more tomorrow. This was my first share purchase back in March. It’s been a rollercoaster and I’ve learned so much about investing from holding it. I believe the BOD are trustworthy and in the ethos of the company.
20 million tests amongst a population of 60 million is not going to last too long.
Hopefully it’s a stop gap purchase until Avacta’s test is ready to go. Buying a home grown solution also will go down well.
Thank you Starbright. Great advice for us Newbies About pricing in of news.
I think one of the most difficult things when you start investing, is trying to work out when to sell, and I think you have been really helpful there.
I wish I had been more aware of that when Boo boo peaked!
In the meantime I’m going to start to learn more about the technical analysis side of things. I have a number of shares with good profits but really have no clue when the best time to sell would be. I hope that will help.
Yes agree a bit of diversification would be safest here. Keep a % in here by all means as it sounds like you really believe in the business... but there are other shares poised for really good news...some of them mentioned above by other posters... you could make up some of your losses and then come back in here.
I’m saying this because I have made a mistake by staying loyal to a share when I should have bailed short term. But DYOR, just my experience and opinion.
Very best of luck.
My goodness that’s awful and I’m so sorry to hear that. Keep strong and wishing you all the best.
Just goes to show none of us know what is going on for people .
Let’s always be courteous to fellow posters as none of us know each other’s back stories.
