BOO THE WHIPPING BOY4 Mar 2021 09:51
You may not agree with what TCM has to say, or any negative poster but the problem is that Boo have become the whipping boy of the fast fashion industry. This realisation is, what sadly led me to release my not insubstantial long term holdings a little while back. Not that I have a problem as such with Boo as a company. I think they are a fab company, certainly insofar as their market insight, creativity, drive, management etc. But...and it's a BIG but. Unless they somehow get to grips with the relentless media and shorting against them, sooner or later, the damage will be irreversible. Like a cancer it will spread, gain momentum exponentially and eventually consume and destroy this great company. In my opinion, Boo need to mount a serious counter strategy to reduce or negate the potential of further ongoing damage. Part of that strategy would have been to list on Nasdaq but because of their not seizing the opportunity to do so when they were able to, they now have this US dilemma to sort out before that avenue can be pursued. I'm sorry to say that the activists pre-empted the US roadmap as a way for Boo to insulate themselves against attack and cut that strategy off by contacting the US border officials. Regardless that the claims are exaggerated, unfounded, whatever, the fact that they have got in first and sowed the seed of doubt has probably put paid to a Nas listing for the time being. Boo need to wake up and realise that they are facing multiple maleficent forces, very possibly acting in concert, whose agenda is to put them out of business and to deal with that accordingly. Period.
