I’d reiterate MB didn’t ref Cairn in the feb RNS for nothing in regards to the litigation being applied by Fasken . The Australia / India treaty is very similar to the cairn and vodaphone treaty and that makes the current eased Indian government stance highly significant for PAT . Our SP is buttons and it’s got to be a steal when you ad Bassala and labola .

Hi Emerald , in short no however this will effect all similar foreign long protracted disputes . Rajasthan seems to be a hotbed with infuriating delay tactics and changing the goal posts as the litigation has gone on in Panthera s Bhukia dispute in particular . I was reading the Times article and it’s like Modi has done us a favour with regards to vodaphone and cairn but as you say when planes and buildings are going to get confiscated and no tricks left in the pack they got to cough up as India will be shunned as a place to do buisness.

I think it depends on the legal advice and the size of the companies whether to bite the Indian governments hand off . For companies like Cairn and Vodaphone may hold out but for 15m£ MC companies like Panthera it would be a multi multi bagger and the initial offer may be snapped up .
