Just received my latest water rates bill from UU. Gone up by just over 17% . Daylight robbery and thanks the liebour comrades for allowing this level of increase. Hope the dividend will go up by a similar amount, but won't hold my breath.

Brown didn't dare touch gold-plated public sector pensions.

Today, a mere 7% of private sector workers get defined benefit pensions, which pay a guaranteed lifetime income based on final salary and years worked.

By contrast, 80% of public sector workers still get them.

Today, Starmer and Reeves are considering a string of new taxes on pensions. Like Brown, every one is aimed squarely at the private sector.

None will harm their mates in the public sector.

As per RNS:

RoyGa, No i've not sold any yet. I've owned these shares since first buying as North West Water group around 1989, at privatisation. Bought quite a few and have purchased more at various vantage points. They've been a great investment. Just have a feeling that it could be on starmers punishment list, but only time will tell. October does not bode well.
