Jeremy Hunt signed the EU joint statement to protect BRITISH jobs

We make very little in the UK
Most goods are imported.
Even so called British goods are often partly/fully manufactured abroad especially the Far east and repackaged here to be sold.
Our manufacturing base is woeful and even with vast foreign investment would take decades to increase to a reasonable size to reduce foreign goods in any meaningful way. Government can never do this...just provide incentives via taxpayers pockets.
ALL our so called British mass produced cars are foreign owned
ALL will gradually downsize their operations should their costs increase by tariffs (10% for WTO )
As competition for new models will go to the plant in their multination estate with the lowest cost base.
