The government agreed two weeks ago to inject £100 million ($129 million, 115 million euros) in funding to help British Steel pay its latest carbon emissions bill to the European Union.

Britain's second biggest steelmaker wants another loan of £75 million to avert its demise, Sky News reported citing unnamed insiders, adding that insolvency experts were on standby.

A collapse of British Steel would spark the loss of up to 5,000 jobs at the group's sprawling steelworks in Scunthorpe, northern England.

BTW - The Government have just confirmed that the "withdrawal deal" with be reintroduced in the first of June

Nothing is traded after the 16:30 close just the after hours closing auction at 16:35 that clears the SETS order book. That gives the closing price and is shown as a UT trade. The rest are delayed reported trades. Look at the bid and offer price, they are ALL the same. These delayed reported trades could have been executed pretty much anytime during the day.

So the chances of a takeover of CEY are NIL to very remote.
Who would ever offer CEY over a billion pounds for just a license to mine plus a 50% profit sharing scheme with the Egyptian Government who would own all the mining/hardware assets.
